This girl is as content as a bug in a rug when she is swaddled.
But notice that little hand creeping out of her blanket.
If she had her druthers, she would be swaddled for life with her little arm and hand right next to her face.
Some have plugs for comfort.
Others have blankies.
This one has her own arm.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again….Navy is the best helper!
And she has proven herself over and over again with the Pips.
While I was cleaning up the Family Night Room, she took it upon herself to babysit.
And she did a tremendous job.
Take a look…
When she was finished rocking her in her crib, she took her on a stroller ride.
And in the meantime…
Look who brought over the swing, jumped in Pippi’s bed, and wanted in on the Navy action.
Even sick, this girl is sweet.
My two oldest are buddies.
Yes…they fight.
But when they get in a groove, they are a perfect pair.
Here they are at the end of a 25 minutes slip and slide session.
They ran and slid on the tile over and over again.
She cheered him on.
He cheered her on.
And when I called it a night, they both plotted against me.
And when they were put to bed, I overheard them talking all about their awesome slipping and sliding.
And when I yelled into them that they were to GO TO BED on this school night, they whispered about their slipping and sliding!
All of Scout’s class made their teacher cards for her wedding.
Scout had the great idea of writing his in Chinese.
So we looked up “Congratulations on you wedding” and he copied it on the left side.
And on the right, he signed his Chinese name.
Impressive chicken scratch — agreed!?
I went to help with Scout’s Thanksgiving Feast at school, and had two extra stragglers.
I’ve told Mrs. K all along that I am more than happy to help anytime, but I come with baggage.
And she never seems to mind, so Dash and Navy got their very own place settings.
But then they got bored…
So they stole my phone and took a bunch of up-the-nose selfies.
This little girl played like a pro with Dash this morning.
While I was getting some hospital stuff taken care of, she played for about two hours with Dash in her extravagant fort she created.
When I asked if Dash liked it, she said he LOVED it.
And then I saw him with the HiPad.
Of course that boy LOVED it!
-
But after I took it away and hid it behind a couch cushion, I thought I had solved the problem.
That is until nobody could find him, and we were even looking outside down the street.
We called for him over and over, and he never responded.
Then finally Ka woke from her nap on the couch when we were frantically looking for him, and she told us to look in the very back corner of the fort.
I did, and there was a two year old little boy, secretly playing the HiPad on silent.
With three newborns between us, it has been a while since we have seen RoRo and Grey.
But the times we do, these four have a pretty good time together.
Not all bedtimes are completely peaceful.
But this night, we nailed it.
Navy was Mother of the Year.
Nonnie was Grandma of the Year.
Pippi was Baby of the Year.
And Dash….well, to my dismay, I guess we could call him Gamer of the Year.
It is hard to get a good picture of a girl who doesn’t open her mouth on command, but this girl is part vampire!
From the day she was born, she has had these little points where her vampire teeth are, and they look kind of hilarious.
But I guess just like skunks spray and bees sting….a girl this pretty has to have some sort of defense.
