I asked Navy where her pink shoes were.
She told me, “I am positive they are in the car!”
I questioned her, and she said, “Mom, I am telling you 100 percent, they are in there!”
So half way to school, I asked if she had them on.
She was as puzzled as can be when she told me that they weren’t in the car.
So I told her she better find something in the car to put on her feet.
It was between Scout’s flips or his soccer cleats.
The flips were “boy shoes” and totally out of the question.
But since our girl neighbor gave Scout her cleats (that are boy cleats because they couldn’t find girl ones at the store they were in), she opted for those.
Fine by me.
And upon hearing the story, fine by her teacher too.
