Navy changed schools this year. Mostly because the drive could have killed me last year as I went in two different directions four times a day last year. So this year, school is on the way, and the hours coincide with Scout’s school hours really well. Before her first day, she and I went and toured the school. She was loving it, and was really excited to start up. When we toured KR, she was given “homework” where she had to complete a poster that was all about her.
Clearly we had a blast putting it together, and she was really excited to turn it in.
But I think she might have been just as excited to put on her “first day of school outfit” that she, Nonnie and I went to pick out.
Dash went with me to see her off, and she was not nervous at all. Even though she didn’t know a single soul in her class, she told me she would make new friends and probably like it a lot!
We used her backpack from last year because we weren’t sure if she would need one. Good thing we didn’t buy one since the teachers told us no need for backpacks on day one!

The teachers talked her through the morning ritual.
She needed to put her lunch in her cubby — which she is standing next to here.
And then she needed to sign in to let the teachers know she was there.
And finally, take a seat with the other kids and get going on the school day.

The verdict once I picked her up.
She really likes her new school, and wants to go back “the next day”.
