Typically at Scout’s school, each person brings in a little party favor for all of the other kids in class to let them know it is their birthday. And then the class sings the child Happy Birthday. Well, the day before Scout’s birthday, Ms. Shih came to me and said, “I know how good you are at parties, so I reserved an hour for you to throw Scout a birthday party tomorrow.
Whoa!
Actually, I thought that was pretty great, but I had to get to work.
I decided on potato sack races.
There were girls heats, boys heats, and then the ultimate winner heat between the top boy and top girl.
Scout won one of the heats, and got into the winners heats.
In the winners heat, he was out in fron until about 2/3 of the way when he tripped and Kai (the blond) took the win.
After that, Kai won the whole thing!
After that sack races, they headed over for a birthday snack (with no sugar as the school policy says) of goldfish crackers and juice.
Then it was the Happy Birthday Song.
Then lunchtime.
All while this handsome fellow spectated.
