Micah was stuck in L.A. Traffic, so this I let Navy and Scout take over Family Night this night. Navy taught a really sweet lesson (copied straight from our recent visit from the missionaries) about being good, and not letting the bad things of the world like stealing or cheating ruin who we are. She used pepper and soap as illustrations. I was impressed with the lesson. More impressed that she was listening during the missionaries. Then Scout took over for the “activity”. He said it had something to do with Heavenly Father creating good food for us to eat. And then he informed us that we would be bobbing for grapes.
I let Bella go first.
Then Scout showed us how it was to be done.
He was a maniac.
This was my attempt.
And then the Ickity Dickity Dock got down to business.
And scored one for the kid’s team.
They were both cute being in charge. And I’ll admit that that was one of the quietest Family Nights we have ever had. I guess the trick is simply this — put the loud ones in charge, and then they keep themselves under control.
