I am not a fan of breaking up the trip to or from Utah.  I think it makes it terribly long.  But this time we did just that.  So on our second leg — from Vegas to California — we did a little exploring to let the kids have a little fun.

Our first stop took us ten feet from the “longest train in the world” where the conductor honked and waved at us.

And then we went exploring some awesome rock caves.  It was really windy and must have been 35 California degrees which felt like 0 Utah degrees.

Then we were driving and saw this awesome huge green hill. We stopped and Micah took Scout and Navy hiking up it.  In the above picture, you can see them as little specks along the ridge line.

They made it to the top, where it was freezing and windy again.

Dashy was down with me snapping photos and eating Doritos.

When they finally made it down, it looked like they all had a great time.
So much that when my mom asked Scout about his favorite part of the trip, he said that it was when he got to explore “these huge mountains!”
