There are some thing sin life that once you’ve done them, you NEVER need to do them again!  Taking three little kids to check out the Rose Parade floats is one of those things.  Thank goodness my mom was game to go, because it would have been even more miserable without her.
(Plus, we hit up a pretty darling store before the floats, and that is always fun with Mama Mia.)

Everything started off smoothly.  The kids were interested, and even asked the hosts a few questions.  That was float one.  From float two on, the only person who had a slight interest was Scout.  And it was completely my mistake because when I thought about it later….of course a three year old isn’t going to be in awe of what meticulous work went into these floats.

Thank goodness for the free water that kept Navy and Scout occupied for five minutes.

It’s amazing how intrigued they were by these faucets!

Knowing that my younger two didn’t really care, my mom offered to sit with them and eat popcorn while I took Scout on a mini tour.  So for about 20 minutes, we went to check some more floats out, and we had a good time.  We especially liked the huge American flag.

I loved the “Freedom Is Not Free” float.  Scout loved the churros.  Speaking of the churros — freedom isn’t the only thing that isn’t free!  He better have loved every last morsel of cinnamon on that $5 Churro.

The girl who decided that she didn’t want to walk has found that riding on her knees in the front of Dash’s umbrella stroller is a sneaky way of getting what she wants.  But this day, Dash was not having it.  He would get his feet up and with all his might, kick her off!

Have I said thank goodness for my mom yet?

Luckily I parked right next to an awesome park, and the kids were beyond stoked to play there.

Especially this little boy who is obsessed with Super-manning it down any slide he sees.

Can I just say that I am glad that this particular even is in our past, and not in our future.  Maybe a one on one date with Micah — someone who could appreciate the workmanship.  But to be honest, when there are 500,000 other people looking at the same thing you are….is it ever really that fun?
