We had quite the crew over for FHE.
It started out with about 4 hours of swimming and cannon ball launching.
While the adults cooked, ate and talked.
At the end, we had a family night lesson about each of our gifts from Heavenly Father — and had a talent show.
Scout chose his talent to be running, and Icka sang for the group.
They were both to die for.
They had a really full night, that put them to bed around 10pm.
That’s how our summer has gone — lots of exhausting activities, and really late nights.
But the next morning, two of my kids finally made up for lost time.
While Scout got up around 8:30, Dash didn’t get up until 10:00, and Icka who woke up at 8:30, immediately went into Bella and cuddled right back to sleep until 11:15!
(I wouldn’t let Bella go back into where she was sleeping the whole time, and she was getting so annoyed at me!)
Apparently my kids were very sleep deprived.
So that night….what did we do?
Right when my kids were about to go to bed at 7:30, Scout came to me with a pen and paper to write what he said.
I put a little of my own wording in it, and Navy requested the “4 hearts”.
And I was all for the plan, because I was sick all day, and was down for the count.
At first Micah was a little resistant, but finally the big softie gave in.
So he loaded all three up, and took the kids to his parent’s pool and tried to teach them to water ski.
He ran with the rope, while the kids were in the pool with their skis on.
It was another late night — 10:15, but can you imagine more fun?
My kids came home and told me every detail of the night.
Hopefully, it’s another morning of sleeping in kids.
