Scout, Icka, Dash and I had picked “Baby Beach” out of the jar. We were all gussied up and ready to go when we called Skylar to come also. When I called, she was really sad on the other end because she was in trouble at home and couldn’t leave until she got some things done. When I went to tell the kids about the dilemma, Scout heard it and replied, “Mom, I think we should go and help Ka to make her happy. Because helping people is always better than playing.” When he finished, I asked Icka what she wanted to do, and she said, “Let’s go help Ka!” So in our bathing suits and already sun-blocked, we headed over to Ka’s house to go to work for a few hours.

I can honestly say that as a mother, I try my hardest to raise good, respectful, nice and thoughtful children. And who ever knows if what I am trying to do is sinking in all the way. But after this little experience, I feel like I might be doing something right. And as a mother, nothing is more gratifying. I was so proud of my kids.
