Dash has his first tooth, and the second is making it’s way!
Here I am trying to get this boy to open up wide to show off his tooth, but obviously he wasn’t having it.
What he really wanted was this puff.
Look at the determination!
Once he finally got it in his hand, he couldn’t quite make it into his mouth.
Bummer.
It’s back to gnawing on the high chair tray.
This picture sums up my kids at the moment.
Scout is wanting to know what is taking so long, and what can I do to mess this picture up.
Navy is either in LaLa Land, or she is defiantly looking away.
Dash is looking at me with longing eyes - just wanting to be in my arms!
Two total weasels, and one little lover.
Shout out to Trey — the best cousin in the world. He let every kid at Scout’s party beat him up for hours. He is always willing to jump on the trampoline or swim for endless hours with Scout. He told Scout the story about when he went to the hospital after being burned by bacon grease about 30 times in a year. He is a great example, and I adore him.
Every day, I look forward to see what Scout painted at school.
Another beautiful picture.
With a vivid description!
Navy was babysitting again.
Sometimes when I take Scout to school, if the others are fed and happy, I let them hang out together and play or watch Sesame Street for the 20 minutes I am gone. Don’t worry, I have people looking in on them.
This particular day, Navy was content on the couch enthralled in Elmo’s World and Dash was jumping like a mad man.
When I got back, Navy ran to the door to greet me and show me how “warmy” Dash was.
Navy had put every blanket she could get a hold of around him to make his “spot”.
And it looks like his “spot” suited him just fine — all the way into dreamland.
Is there anything much better than a kiss from a newly awake baby?
Nope.
I have an aversion to hearing anyone’s dreams.
Like I want to hear a kooky make believe story that is from as far out of left field as possible.
That being said….I love to hear what my kids experienced while in Dreamland.
Like the other night when Bella told me that Navy was full-on singing in her sleep. She couldn’t make out the words, but it was just like she does during the day in her really sweet and soft voice.
Or those times when Scout starts laughing in his sleep.
Scout has also been known to fight in his sleep, and even cry when he is having a nightmare.
There is something so innocent about it all.
Especially when you watch your six month old boy sleep and a smile creeps up onto his lips.
I’ve never invested in any sort of baby bath, because laying them on the bottom in a few inches of water has always done the trick for me. Each of my babies has loved the freedom to kick like crazy or have fun as I slide them around the tub. But I will say that a tub would probably do one thing that I don’t have a huge grip on — protect my baby from the big kids.
This day, as I was bathing Dash, I had an eager helper. I always let Navy think she is the ultimate babysitter (and actually for a three year old, she is). But at times, she thinks she is the boss. Like this day when she got right in with her clothes on to bathe the baby.
I was nonchalantly disregarded as she soaped up the sweetest baby on earth.
And then when I told her to make sure not to get the water in his eyes, I could feel the eye roll!
Of course she already knew that!
Actually she is really sweet when it comes to Dash. She takes care of him constantly, she goes to him first in the morning, if he cries, she sticks her fingers in his mouth (no matter the state her fingers are in), she tells me I need to sing to him, she feels bad when he cries and she never hurts or is rough with him.
I’ll admit…she did a stellar job, and not a speck of soap landed in Dash’s eyes.
Just look at the picture to know that Dash obviously gave his approval as he relaxed during the whole thing — sucking away.
Navy is always scribbling on some paper telling us she is making her “Beppointments”.
Apparently, she takes this stuff very seriously.
