One of my favorite things to do is walk the Harbor with my kids while I tell them stories and we feed the squirrels. Because Scout is in his cast, I put Scout and Navy in the double BOB, and carry Dash on my tummy. Amazingly enough, it works quite well. The kids explore the whole time while Dash falls asleep on me.
Our favorite parts are:
1. Seeing the baby squirrels.
2. Reading all of the boat names.
3. Playing eye spy.
4. Stopping by the lobster boats to talk to our favorite fisherman.
5. Counting the pelicans. Spot our favorite has been a local for years, and Spike came on the scene last year. There are two others that haven’t earned names quite yet (from the fishermen), but if they stick around much longer, they will earn them. One of the names in the running is Goofy. Scout was excited about that one!
6. Seeing the pirate ship.
7. Finding the kayakers and paddleboarders.

It is amazing that we live by such a beautiful place. It is even more amazing that in the middle of winter, we can go out and walk around in perfect weather.
Three Cheers for southern California!
