Each day Navy goes to school, she brings home Scout’s worksheets. So while she is away, we work on them together, and then practice reading. Sometimes he tries to give me a little grief, but I know he secretly likes to do them, because he always makes sure I collect them and “turn them in” to Miss Dianne.
And as far as the reading goes, my boy is a stud. We constantly practice three letter words in the car, and he sounds them out and tells me what the word is. He has gotten really good in just the few short days we have been working on them.
So I brought out the BOB books yesterday, and he whipped right through a few of them. He is a smart little guy, and he loves to learn. But I will admit…there might be a carrot dangling in front of his face. I told him that when he could read (get through any BOB book, or some of the Dr. Seuss books), AND he has finished the Book of Mormon (only two of the eight books left), I will pack up our car, and we will take a road trip to Utah the next day. He was psyched on the deal, and is putting his shoulder to the wheel!
