Scout is at about 80% on the swimming scale. Navy is at about 1%. So in an effort to make life a little less stressful around the pool, and especially when we head out to Hawaii this summer, the kids are in swim lessons. The sweetest and most awesome friend of ours is up to the challenge….and with one of my kids — what a challenge it is!
Icka was watching Scout during his lesson. She kept turning around to me and saying, “Mom, when is it my turn?” She was totally anxious to hop in and swim like Scout.
Thie is So nostalgic for me. I loved getting out of the pool when I was little and lay on the warm sidewalk. Scout was SO good at his lesson. And every time he was told that he was doing a good job, he agreed and said, “Yeah.”
Then it was this girl’s turn. She cried from the first second to the last.
But I love how the teacher is from the old school and doesn’t coddle. Even through her tears, she helped little Navy’s head under the water and got her holding her breath.
I’m crossing my fingers that in a few weeks, we will have two swimmers.
I better cross them tightly!
