Trendy?

Is it trendy for youngsters to poop everywhere and anywhere lately?  If so, I didn’t get the memo.  But my nasty and naughty little girl did.  This time, she was responsible, and did her business in her diaper.  But thought she would be “trendy” and take her diaper off and spread the wealth into the carpet.  Mama loved that one!

Talk about nasty.

Her favorite part — her hour-long bath.

Underdogs

Scout asked me to put Icka in the swing.  So I did.  The next thing I know, he was pumping her up, and they are both chanting “Underdogs”!

Here is the planning session.

And here is the “underdog”.
lately, every time we go to the park, both kids want to be in the swings while I underdog them both a thousand times.  I’ll admit that I like it a whole lot better when Scout is the task master.

Let’s Try This Again!

It’s Good News!

The second I found out (with great intentions of waiting to spill the beans), I grabbed Scout and Navy, and wrote a special message on their tummies.   Scout went down
to show Micah.  He was really excited — and even gave me a thumbs up!
We then headed up to show Nonnie.  My mom had a good point in saying, “you should keep it hush hush for a while because of last time.”  (You remember — the big M.)  So I said, “yeah, maybe I will keep it on the down low for a while.”
So the next day at church, before I even knew what was happening, my Mom had my kids going around and lifting their shirts for everyone to see.  (Permanent marker doesn’t just go away in the bath.)  When I reminded her about keeping it “hush hush”, she said, “Oh yeah…..I was just too excited!”
Whatever.

Hopefully I get another weasel just like the two above!

1st TBall Game EVER!

I can’t believe we have officially entered the world of sports.  Scout started us off nicely with a great game of TBall.
img_0770.jpg
He is #2, and really likes the outfield the best.  It was so cute that every time a ball came in his direction, he would run and try to get it.
img_0772.jpg
But most times, he would back off a little to let someone else actually handle the ball.  But he was trying to “hustle” … just like his mom was screaming for him to do.
img_0776.jpg
Batting went better today.  Probably because the T was at his level rather than half a foot too tall.  Look at that swing!
img_0773.jpg
I love this picture, because it shows that there were a few times when he was a little confused by everything that was happening.
img_0791.jpg
Like the time he was running from first base into the outfield.  But you can see his dad’s finger in the top of the shot telling him the correct direction.

The best picture of all came from #4’s Mom.  Here are the dudes, just waiting for a good game to start.

One down, many, many to go!

Bella’s Work

On our way home from Vegas, I got sicker and sicker as I drove.  And by the time I got home, I was ready to hit my “sick bed” for the next few days.  Thank goodness Bella was home from NYC for a while to save my days.  The day I drove (which is the reason I drove), Scout had TBall practice.  I was way too sick to take him, and Bella offered.  And then the topper — she offered to take Icka too.  Sounded DIVINE to me!  A few hours of peace and quiet while I suffered.
img_0764.jpg
But I guess I wasn’t the only one suffering.  Look at how she got Icka “ready”.  Nice bow — especially to show off the huge bruise on her forehead.  And she sat in something, so her rear end was bright orange.  She looked horrible!
img_0761.jpg
And then, Bella just let her off.  Apparently, running around with Scout’s helmet on was her choice.  Yeah — I think not!  But it makes for a cute picture.  And Skilly and Scout are in the background.
———-
It might seem like I am complaining.  I’m not.  That sleep was imperative at the time.  But I am questioning Bella’s style choices, and crossing my fingers that the only times her kids look like this are when I have them.  (Not on a regular day to day basis.)

How Come….

img_0746.jpg
….when I feel really lousy, this girl doesn’t charm me quite as much?  It is a good thing I am on the mend, because I now understand how imperative patience is while raising kids.  Especially a quarter Japanese, non-stop, teasing, cracking jokes, sassy little weasel like this one.
——–
Sidenote — This girl is completely potty trained.  She knows how to tell me she is ready to go, she knows how to go potty and poop on the toilet, she knows how to flush, she knows the whole thing.  But do you think that she will actually cooperate?  Not because she isn’t capable — it’s because she is completely and utterly stinky!  Belly is in town, and I told her I would pay her $100 if she potty trained her.  She was all for it.  But when Belly asked if Sissy was “ready to get a treat every time she went on the potty”, Sissy told her, “No…every time I go in my diapers.”
Welcome to my life with Queen Stubborn!
But moms — don’t be sad for me.  Stubborn will work in my favor when it’s some idiot offering her a cigarette in the future.

A No-Photo Trip

The kids and I headed out to Vegas this past week to hang out with Micah and take RyRy to some dental appts.  Unfortunately, even though I had all three cameras I own, they all sat comfortably tucked away in their carrying case.  I have turned into a loser.  But to document a few things –
* The ride out was a blasted nightmare!
* Sleeping in a hotel that was too hot wasn’t too great either.  (My kids always sleep solely in their undies with the window open next to the beach.  So when you get out to the desert, in a hot and dry hotel room — it doesn’t really jive.)
* The kids were particularly good while we sat in the car for five hours straight while we accompanied Daddy on part of his work day.
* The kids and I spent a really fun day of parks, playgrounds and Abby’s house.
* We found a babysitter!
* Micah and I went out on a date to Bobby Flay’s “Mesa Grill” and then to Love, the Beatles Cirque De Soleil show.  I would recommend the restaurant, but the show was barely watchable.  I love Cirque De Soleil when it isn’t all psychedelic, and they focus on amazing fetes.  This one was nothing spectacular, and I yawned through the whole thing!
* The kids were excellent on our way home.  They were literally perfect!  Too bad that every mile I drove, I was getting sicker and sicker.  And now at home, I have part cold, part flu, part nausea.  I can’t exactly say what it all is, but I feel worse than I remember feeling in a long time.

Academy Awards

In honor of a bunch of lame movies, we had a grilled cheese bar, the Tackys and Britni (with Grey).  I’ll have to admit that I love the whole grilled cheese movement.  And our night didn’t disappoint when it came to food.
img_0727.jpg
Here is a bit of the spread with a REALLY happy Britni at the end.
img_0729.jpg
Here is the poser with what he thought were the night’s winning creations.
img_0730.jpg
Then this fool created more masterpieces.
img_0724.jpg
But in the end, they all had to concede to me.  My Brie with halved grapes and Italian parsley was insanely good!  But my cheddar with cilantro and chipotle sauce took home the medal.  (Even if Tacky wants to claim that creation as his own!)
