Yesterday my friend said, “nothing is better than when your kid says that they love you for the first time”, on their own — without prompting. Well, to my surprise, Scout came over to me this morning and said something that might even be better. I was getting ready, and he came up to me and said, “Mom …. you are so pretty.” I got tears in my eyes, and showed him. I couldn’t believe how sweet a few simple words can be. I guess that showing him my tears was a good idea, because he has told me about four more times today how I am “so pretty”.
