I knew that the time was coming when I needed to take Scout’s plug away. But I felt too bad because it was his favorite thing in the WORLD. So when Micah came home and told me that he read something about how plugs screw up your jaw, and that Scout needed to do away with his, I literally felt sick to my stomach. I felt even worse when I came home after Micah had put him to bed and reported to me that he told Scout about what he had read, and told him that he shouldn’t use his plug anymore. I was so bummed that Micah didn’t gear Scout up for the day that his plug was gone….or have him turn them into the pluggy fairy….or cut the tips little by little.
I have heard horror stories about the process, and wasn’t excited about the upcoming few weeks of battling.
Well, since the conversation, Scout has not asked for his plug. He hasn’t snuck a plug (which wouldn’t be hard since they are EVERYWHERE). He has informed people that he doesn’t take a plug anymore. He quit cold turkey.
I am impressed, but my mom says that in all of her years, she hasn’t ever seen a thing like it. What a good boy he is.
