Scout as of Lately…

This kid is a classic. Not only does he have everyone wrapped around his finger, but he just oozes personality.

Things he says lately that are so cute….

“Mommy…what you doing?”

“You see dat?”….”I saw dat!”

“You like vampires?” and when I say they scare me, he reassures me that, “they are nice.”

“Das cute mamma.”

When I tell him he has preschool that day, he says, “Ooooohhh…I like preschool.”

“Not yet” on everything I want him to do.

While driving in the car, “Did you see dat? One shiny wet nose, two black eyes…iz a bear!” He says it the same way I do when I read Bear Hunt to him.

He is always adding things into his prayer about what he shouldn’t do. Tonight’s were, to “not throw or chuck things”. But the best prayer moment was last night when I was helping him say, “please help me to have a good day tomorrow”, and when he heard the word tomorrow, without skipping a beat, he went into….”the sun will come out…..tomorrow…tomorrow….I luz ya…tomorrow….” from Annie. It was classic!

When I asked what he wanted to get his little buddy for his birthday, he said, “a big, huge gun….so I can shoot him.” Guess he doesn’t grasp the whole gift concept yet.

Last but certainly not least, every single morning when he sees Icka for the first time, he takes his pluggy out and gets right in her face to say, “good morning Icka” and then gives her loves and a kiss.

Team Freckled — The First Losers!

Tristen and I competed in the Urban Dare Newport Beach challenge on Saturday, and took second freaking place! Talk about a let down. We were 6 minutes away from winning a cruise to the Bahamas. What a rip. Well at least we got some exercise in, and validated the fact that we would be awesome on the Amazing Race.

And on a side note…..I told Tristen to come in all black for our team get up. Who knows why she raced all over Balboa Island in designer shorts and t shirt. I am surprised she wasn’t wearing gladiator sandals. I don’t know who she was trying to impress, but then again….with the fanny pack….I guess she wasn’t trying to impress anyone.

Mis….spelled

Accordeeng to Micah, I alwayz have wurds spelled incorectly in my blawg postes.  Whuups!  Mi bad….and why dosn’t my stincking spell chek wurk?

Sleepy Head

Navy Baby has been a good sleeper since she was born.  I love to peak in on her and see her snoozing away.  The last two times were worth pictures.  Yesterday, I checked in on her, and she was in a really heavy sleep.  She was breathing loudly, her mouth was open, and she was drooling.  Unfortunately, my picture doesn’t do the moment justice, but it does represent the fact that she is a spitter upper.  Notice the bright orange spot on her left….most likely due to the delicious lunch of homemade organic carrot baby food….Sweet!

This morning, I finally caught her on camera doing one of my favorite things.  She pulls her bumper down to make a pillow for herself.  This time, she was in la la land tucked into the corner on her pillow, with her arm outside the crib.  Kind of reminds me of the princess and the pea — the pillow I mean. I guess because they both seem high maintenance?

Favorite New Purchase

Nonnie got suckered when Scout came up to her in the Red Balloon wearing this robe, and said, “Nonnie…..we buy dis?”  Obviously….and nice strategy Scout!

Homemade

I felt like I needed a little project in my life, so I headed to the Laguna Farmer’s Market and bought some produce to make Icka some homemade baby food.  I ended up with a ton, and even had fantasies of getting really thin by going on a baby food diet.  Problem is….it tastes so good, I would probably gain on it.   (Tristen….you can appreciate!)  Anyway….the process was:

Prepare all of the food and bake it in the oven.  Some recipes called for other methods, but this way makes the tastiest of them all.  And I concur.

After peeling the skins off, blend it up. (preferably in the Vita-Mix….my favorite kitchen gadget by a landslide!)

Poured, labeled, and froze.  I ended up with 23 containers of fresh deliciousness.  On top of the fresh avacados, bananas and other fruit I feed her, I think I have more food than she will ever need.  I guess I’ll tell Micah that we need to start gearing up for #3, so I have someone to feed this stuff to.

Scummy….This One Is For YOU!

Italian chickens on a 1/4 Japonese little doll……priceless!!!  Let me know if you want to borrow it for August in about 6 months.

Compromise

Scout wanted to go swimming.  NayNay wanted to watch T.V.  They compromised and took a bath with swimsuits on, while watching the television.  And then Sweets and Ka joined in on the fun.  What a night.

Lopsided

Talk about a deadbeat.  I was going through photos and videos, and came to a sad realization.  I have nonstop coverage of Scout, and about a quarter of it for Navy.  I will say that I still have a good amount for Sweets, but in comparison….I am feeling the guilt.  I will also say that I don’t think she is getting ripped off, I just think Scout ran solo and didn’t have a competitor for camera time.  My poor next children.  Well….I am on it!  I am vowing to never give her an opportunity in the future to say that Scout was the chosen one.  All I’ve got to say is Sweets…..”say cheese!”
