Micah has been out of town for work a lot lately. So in an effort to “male bond”, he and Scout went on a father and son’s camping trip. For some added pleasure, they invited Jim Zimm to go along with Ezra. There are SO MANY things I could write about, but I will just touch on the best things.
#1 — Jim had never been camping, and didn’t know what you “do” when you go camping. I don’t know why I find him SO hilarious, but I do. I mean…..what 32 year old man has never been camping? Well, to Micah and my delight, he accepted the invitation. And in the end, Miss Zimm confirmed that Jim liked it. Miracles do not cease!
#2 — I talked to Micah twice in the late evening, and once in the morning. On the other hand, Miss Zimm and Jim were texting all night long. Was it that they missed eachother? Who knows, but I happened to go to dinner with Miss Zimm, and we were cracking up at the constant K.I.Ting. Better yet was the context that was exchanged. My favorite was, “Micah keeps telling me that we are going to have Brauts for our midnight snack. I keep telling him, ‘cool man’. I don’t even know what Brauts are.”
#3 — I love that I have people confirming to me what I already know. Like that Micah likes to take everything but the kitchen sink when he goes camping. Talk about being prepared. Micah has everything for anything that might come up. It is fun to go with him, because it is kind of like luxury camping. Jim reported back to Adrienne that Micah had everything. So true!
#4 — I am happy to report that Scout and Ezra are starting to become friends instead of foes. They had a few rough patches along the way, but the camping brought them together. Micah said they were happy the whole time, and were nonstop until around midnight.
#5 — Poor John didn’t have quite the great experience. Next time John….next time!
#6 — Scout was FILTHY….and I mean FILTHY when he came home. But not to worry, Skilly took one look and took over. Including a huge bubble bath, a bazillion bandaids, and even a foot massage for the Clifford Touch.
