Happy 4th Birthday Pippi!

img_5420-2017-10-04-at-10-28-53.jpg
Although Pippi is sure she is 14 (and tells people so), Pippi is actually turning 4 today!  And what a fun-filled day it was:

Her day started off on a field trip to Zoomars.
img_5437-2017-10-04-at-13-18-03.jpg
After riding horses and trains, and playing in corn — Pippi went to ballet with a few of her favorite friends.  And obviously she was in a new birthday ballet suit she picked out!

Next, she went to the dentist!
img_5447-2017-10-04-at-15-52-19.jpg
This was an oversight by mom (dentist on birthday), when she booked the appointment on, but when we found out you get movie tickets if you go to the dentist on your birthday — every child now wants to go on their birthday now!

We ended the afternoon at the beach with the Seastrands, for presents and pizza.
img_8535-2018-04-19-at-14-22-51.jpg
And capped off the whole birthday day, with more presents.  And this was the 10 minute span, where we recorded the cutest video that Pippi will ever create.  Her excitement on every present opened, was worthy of an oscar!  She was absolutely darling as she received gifts, and I only wish we had 15 more for her to open!
Pippi…if this is what four[teen] looks like…this is going to be a really exciting year!!!

Monkey In The Middle

img_5367-2017-10-03-at-17-59-41.jpg
With Scout gone at Science Camp, we decided to celebrate!
Just kidding…but we did decide to head down to Baby Beach for an evening on the sand.  We started with a picnic, then the kids collected, and we ended with a fierce game of Monkey In The Middle.
img_5382-2017-10-03-at-18-02-02.jpg
Pippi and I watched, as Dad, Dash and Navy duked it out.  The craziest thing happened by the end of the night — the kids both got about even turns being in the middle, the kids were all in good spirits, and Scout wasn’t walking around bragging that he is the best!
Even still….we missed Scout!

Science Camp for Scout

Scout is off to 5th grade Science Camp today.
He will be gone all week, and I am so sad to see him go…although I am very excited for him.
He packed everything himself, and when I double checked everything — he got it all right.  But I did hesitate to let him bring his blow up mattress — but he insisted, so I relented.  On my packing list, I was told he would receive mail while there, so Micah and I both wrote hi letters.
img_5340-2017-10-02-at-18-55-41.jpg
I loved Micah’s “guidelines”.
My favorites were, “Be sure to include everyone..some kids will be lonely and homesick” and “Be funny but don’t be a clown”.  I hope he takes it all to heart — but especially those two.
I also wrote him a good letter…but my favorite letter I wrote was this:

Just a love note to Scout’s best friend, from his secret admirer!
Scout and I were dying!!!
img_5359-2017-10-02-at-19-55-53.jpg
While Scout was packing — apparently Pippi was too.
img_5343-2017-10-02-at-19-00-55.jpg
She pulled everything out, and insisted to go to Scout’s science camp too!
She was heartbroken she could go with him.
img_5364-2017-10-03-at-09-11-34.jpg
The next morning he was off!
I was glad to see him never look back, as there were some other kids clinging to their parents like nervous wrecks.

Have a great time Scout!  Remember to not be a clown.  Come home in one piece, and with some great stories for us to enjoy!

Navy’s Love Notes

Navy….my heart would die (not dyi) without you too!

Jog-A-Thon ‘17

img_5284-2017-09-27-at-07-24-06.jpg
How much do I love my kids — who always thing any sort of school event, calls for an “outfit”!
Here are their Jog-A-Thon outfits for the big school run this year!
img_5288-2017-09-27-at-08-30-12.jpg
Scout had longevity.
img_5304-2017-09-27-at-10-46-24.jpg
Navy had determination.
img_5297-2017-09-27-at-09-43-45.jpg
And Dash had speed!
Dash was my favorite of the day, because he didn’t stop once!
Everyone in his kindergarten class would stop to rest, and Dash kept going and going and going.

Dear Bergeson,
I am sorry we stopped donating to this fundraiser.  But when you made the laps as long as my tiny driveway, I decided to not pay for my kids to be lazy.  When you extend your laps again, I will open my wallet again.  Until then…I will pass out water or mark the hundredth lap on the kid’s shirts!
From a perplexed mother

Big Girl

img_5275-2017-09-25-at-08-27-47.jpg
As Pippi was doing her morning school prep, I couldn’t believe how big she seemed to me!  I can’t believe that I don’t have any more babies.  It is sad and glorious all at the same time!  I keep telling her to stay my baby forever, but she tells me that she is going to get big so she can wear real make up.  But then I remind her that she puts on real makeup every day at her makeup table — MY MAKEUP.  Then she tells me that she needs her very own real makeup.  Not the fake kind…the REAL kind.  So I put a set of “real” makeup brushes in the amazon cart for a “needed” Christmas gift.

Kindergarten Reader

img_5269-2017-09-24-at-20-08-57.jpg
Not to brag — but I bet your kindergartner wasn’t reading Magic Treehouse books all by himself in a day!
Dash has read three in three days — and the amazing part, is that he completely comprehends them all!
He tells me the story back, and doesn’t miss anything.
Very impressive my boy.
No go and thank Nonnie!

Caped Warrior

img_5262-2017-09-24-at-19-42-38.jpg
Tonight, as Micah and I were lounging to some football, we heard the sound of a wooden pole hitting the tile floor.
As the sound came closer, we saw a little old man with a cane walk towards us.
img_5264-2017-09-24-at-19-42-51.jpg
And then we saw an entire series of nunchuk moves from the man and his cane.
And without so much as a single word, he completed his moves, hunched back over his cane, and hobbled off.

Scout you are hilarious and rad — all at the same time!

Linger Longer

Scout and Navy were so excited to hear about our ward’s new Linger Longer Sundays.
They each signed up to bring a homemade dessert…and each got up extra early Sunday morning to bake.
img_5209-2017-09-24-at-08-04-13.jpg
With my blessing, and my threat to “clean as you go”, they baked away.
img_5259-2017-09-24-at-10-12-04.jpg
Check out their masterpieces!
Navy made her famous homemade brownies with fudge frosting, and Scout made his single chocolate chip cookie with sea salt!
They were both devoured at Linger Longer — and they all got props!
And the kitchen???
Spotless upon cookie/brownie completion!

Grey’s Birthday Party

img_5181-2017-09-23-at-19-06-19.jpg
We all headed down to Grey’s birthday party on the sand.  It was a good choice, because everyone in the crew had different levels of wants and needs — and somehow, the beach fulfills everyone’s list perfectly.
img_5177-2017-09-23-at-18-18-06.jpg
The Twips can run around and fool around aimlessly.
img_5198-2017-09-23-at-20-26-25.jpg
The big kid crew can act like hooligans.
img_5201-2017-09-23-at-20-27-02.jpg
And when we have all overstayed, Dash found a perfectly comfortable place on the sand.
img_5203-2017-09-23-at-21-56-40.jpg
Which was clearly more comfortable than the white chair he found en route to his bed.
I guess the beach tuckered all of us out…but maybe Dash the most!
