“Seat Belt”

img_1670-2016-05-04-at-13-26-39.jpg
Lately, Pippi and I have had a daily struggle.  She now knows how to put on her own seat belt, which is really helpful.  But unfortunately, she is the world’s biggest tease.  So almost every single day when I ask her to get her seat belt on, she climbs the passenger chair and says, “Dis is my seat belt”!  Then I ask again, and then threaten, and then usually… I get out and walk around the car and get her in her real seat belt.  And as I do, she has the look of full satisfaction — just like the master tease that she is.

Daddy’s Girls

Just two girls who love their daddy.

Ramps

Today, while the Seastrands were over, Micah put out the ramps.  I think my kids spent 2 straight hours jumping these ramps on their bikes and scooters.  It just goes to show you that a few pieces of wood and some nails are every bit as good as anything you can buy.  So good, that each kid was begging Micah to make one for their own homes!

Date With Dash

There is nothing I love more than a little one on one time with one of my kids.
Especially when it is at one of my favorite restaurants!
Manga Benei never disappoints and Dash never disappoints!

Rolls

After they got their tonsils out, Navy was down about 8 pounds, Dash about 6 pounds, and Scout was down a whopping 11 pounds.
I guess not eating might really be the key to keeping trim.
That being said, when we were thinking about something soft that they could eat in honor of Scout’s birthday, he wanted cinnamon rolls.
And Nonnie was quick to make his dream a reality.

This might be one of the first times that all four of my weasels were on the counter watching.

I actually think that my kids might be their most patient ever when the spinning, rising and rolling take place.
But as soon as the dough is ready — all patience flies out the window.
I don’t blame them — it is my favorite dough too!

Tonsil Bed

img_1648-2016-05-01-at-08-14-40.jpg
What was once our family bed, became our “Tonsil Bed”.
Our nights are still a bit rough — especially Scout who has resolved to showering in the middle of the night to get his mind off of his pain.
But since these three were able to get out and play for Scout’s birthday, I figured a calm afternoon at church would also agree with them.

So I set out their church outfits, and about an hour after this picture was taken, we were sitting all lined up in a row on the front pew.

Scout’s 9th Birthday

After two weeks of tonsil recovery, Scout is finally feeling better.  And just in time for his 9th birthday!  We were trying to do something low-key, but something he loved.  And I came up with the perfect plan.  If there is one thing I know that Scout loves, I know he loves to find quarters, and ultimately collect them.  So I told him that we were going to drive to every single vending machine, candy machine, phone booth, arcade game, and soda machine we could think of.  And he could search to his little hearts desire.  He was also going to be the lucky recipient of three helpers, and their loot.

In true Scout fashion, he was all over this amazing birthday activity.

His biggest score was at the mall of course.  The ride-on toys there are always a lucky spot for him.  I think he scored 6 quarters from there alone!

In the end, he found almost $6!
Not bad.

Then we went home for some presents.

And just in time for a huge neighborhood Nerf war, Scout got his very own gun.
Happy Birthday my sweet boy who endured two weeks of horror to finally get to his birthday!

The Beach — FINALLY!

After WAY TOO LONG of being in our house with three sickos, I finally packed us up for a few hours of Vitamin D.  To be honest, Navy and Dash are pretty good during the day.  It is the nights that they struggle.  But poor Scout struggles all day long.  His recovery has been the worst, by far.  And as for me, I am up at least four times in the night.  Which is way down from the 11 times I was up during night 2 and 3.
Clearly, we could all use a little fun in the sun.

Poor Scout was freezing, but a good sport to try and enjoy his time.

Pippi was stoked to see her buddy up and running.

Navy found a rad piece of seaweed that she used for a limbo rope.
img_1616-2016-04-27-at-17-20-03.jpg
And not surprisingly at all — Navy dominated at Limbo.
img_1631-2016-04-27-at-17-20-20.jpg
And poor Scout, who finally got up to participate just a bit, took that limbo rope right in the tonsils.
Poor guy.
But all in all, it was a very successful outing that was much needed.

Angi’s House

My poor kids are going stir crazy, ,so Angi invited them up for a calm hour away from home.  I took her up on her offer so quickly, it was crazy.  I guess I was going a little stir crazy too.

Navy was so happy to go back to her collecting mode.  Angi’s house has the best plant that has tons of caterpillars this time of year.  Dash — although not pictured, wasat her side the whole time.

Pippi got the mic, and sang her famous nursery rhymes for everyone.

And Scout….poor scout.
He got an allergic reaction to their dog — just to add a little salt on the recovering wounds!

Flipped

When I saw Pippi’s bare bum running around, I told her to go and get her diaper back on.  (She likes to take it off lately.)  When she came back, she was so proud of herself because she “put it all back on”!
One minor detail was the that it was flipped inside out — and unfortunately, this wasn’t a dry diaper.
