While We Were Away

While Nonnie and I are in Utah to see the twins be born, Micah sent me this picture of the girls taking over Nonnie’s bed.
img_8298-2017-04-19-at-07-13-48.jpg
Then, the next morning, he sent me this picture of Navy (our perfect child) making Nonnie’s bed.
What a good girl.
She made Nonnie so proud.

Twin Babies

Nonnie wanted to prepare Pippi for the upcoming births in the family.
We are just weeks away from Pippi having two new cousins, that she will have to take care of often.
In honor…Pippi named her babies Penn and Posey.
Nonnie talked to her about holding them properly, how to rock them, sing to them, burp them, etc.
Nonnie thought Pippi was ready to conquer twins!

It was only five minutes later, that Nonnie looked over to see Posey held on by her outfit, and Penn dropping to the ground.
Looks like it is time for lesson two: “Only let Bella hold her babies”.

Recycling Project

There is nothing like a boy crying, “I forgot to make my recycling project that is due today” five minutes before we had to leave.
He had to make a “recycled” version of himself.
I grabbed scissors, and the glue stick.
He ran to the trash, grabbed a hanger, flier, plate, box and gold crown from Easter two days previous.
And literally in five minutes — he cut, I assembled, he glue…and voila!

Recycled Dash.

King Boo Boo

img_8166-2017-04-16-at-08-31-09.jpg
At the time of this picture, I counted 19 boo boo’s on the King himself.  This kid is always scraped up — always!  But it is rare I ever know where or what the scrapes came from.  I guess it doesn’t really matter — as long as he doesn’t come crying every time he gets one!

Easter ‘17

I don’t know my favorite part of Easter.
I love watching the kids search for their baskets, and then going through the goods.
img_8178-2017-04-16-at-14-33-36.jpg
But I also love the Easter outfits.
Then again, I honestly think that the kids singing in church might be my favorite — and this year especially, because Nonnie found the greatest song — God of Miracles!

Quite frankly, nothing beats the anticipation of the world’s largest egg hunt — and the annual picture we take.
img_8252-2017-04-16-at-19-36-01.jpg
My kid’s favorite part is obviously the hundreds of eggs that Megan fills each year!
img_8245-2017-04-16-at-18-21-08.jpg
But I love when people get my joke eggs.
img_8200-2017-04-16-at-14-35-50.jpg
In the end…I know my favorite part of Easter.
It’s being with my family all together, celebrating the Resurrection.
(And the joke eggs.)

Daddy’s Day Out

Micah woke up this morning with plans.
He wanted to take the kids caterpillar hunting, and then to the thrift store for silk ties — for a special Easter-egg-dying party.

img_8066-2017-04-15-at-12-13-06.jpg
img_8080-2017-04-15-at-12-34-51.jpg
When Micah runs next to Capo beach, he says hundreds of caterpillars are crossing the running path.  So her took us down there, to see if we could catch a few.  Instead, the kids caught at least 100 caterpillars.  Navy got the most, but Dash and Pippi weren’t far behind.  Scout trailed in last place.  But it was like a bug catchers dream — they were everywhere in the grass patch Micah found for us!

img_8095-2017-04-15-at-15-08-46.jpg
Then he took us to the thrift store, where we got silk ties to die our Easter Eggs.  We took the ties apart, then put them all out to choose one by one.  Then we wrapped them really tightly in the ties, and hard boiled them that way.
img_8112-2017-04-15-at-15-55-20.jpg
The funnest part was the “reveal”.
img_8115-2017-04-15-at-16-04-02.jpg
Here are our eggs!
img_8100-2017-04-15-at-15-37-23.jpg
This was a group favorite — and certainly Scout’s favorite since it was his!
img_8111-2017-04-15-at-15-53-22.jpg
But this Frenchie egg took first place in my eyes!
But then again — it was one of mine.

Twinsies

img_8134-2017-04-15-at-19-06-25.jpg
Twinsies watched their dad play soccer in the warmth of their own man-made burrito!
By the way — when did Pippi grow up?

Real Live Chicks

Britni said to me a week ago — “my kid’s school is having baby chicks!  Do you want in?”  Not understanding what “in” was, I inquired.  She wanted to know if I would like to own some.  I told her HECK NO!  When she got her chicks, I called her to ask how much she loved them.  She said, “I have already placed them elsewhere — they stink, and are so loud!”  I asked if we could babysit them one night, and she almost threw them out the door to me.
img_8102-2017-04-15-at-15-43-19.jpg
Here is their set up.  Food, straw, water, and heat lamp.
img_8121-2017-04-15-at-16-45-24.jpg
They were SO cute.
We never secured a name for them, but I think Piggly and Wiggly were top contenders.
img_8122-2017-04-15-at-16-57-44.jpg
My girls had such a fun time with their “real live chicks”!
img_8131-2017-04-15-at-17-07-25.jpg
Needless to say, Navy was in love with them…and was the best caretaker they may ever have.
Certainly, better than the Seastrands!

Boss Baby

img_8062-2017-04-14-at-19-21-13.jpg
Navy has wanted to see a movie called “Boss Baby” for three months.
She finally had her dream come true when Micah was able to stream it.
And the cherry on top — she had 6 boys and 1 little girl join in on the fun!

Navy’s Easter Egg Hunt

img_8052-2017-04-14-at-10-41-41.jpg
Rather than just the kid’s school number on their eggs, I made it a little trickier for Navy’s class this year!
img_8060-2017-04-14-at-13-56-39.jpg
And myself — as I had a whole lot of math to be writing!
