In honor of her upcoming baptism, I interviewed Navy on all thing important. But if you will notice, she was looking a little funky in her interview. Her cheeks were a bit too rosy, and she was even a bit swollen. I wasn’t sure what it was — but the HIVES that came by the end of this day were BAD! Good thing we got this interview in when we did!
(I still think she is drop dead gorgeous!)
It took me about 15 minutes to convince this boy, that he didn’t have to keep his mouth wide open as saliva dripped out — just because he was numb!
First you feed.
Then you burp.

Talk about old pros at this!
I woke up to this awesome story!
Last night, while Scout was sleeping, he said that in the middle of the night, something woke him up and told him to check on Bella and the babies. When he went in, she was feeding Posey and Penn. He walked right over, and said, “I’m here Bella. I can help you.” She told him it was late, and he should go back to bed. But he insisted that he would just help for a little bit, and then he would go back to sleep. The side note of that story is that Bella had just said a prayer…asking for help to have the strength to feed her babies without getting frustrated. (This was her first stint at being a solo mom to three littles.) She was having a tough time, so said another prayer asking for the same help. Then she said that not a minute later, Scout came in to help. After he insisted on staying, she teared up at the help she was getting, and that her help came from Scout.
That oldest boy of mine is something else. He is so awesome, it is amazing.
Pippi has discovered her love of play dates, so Goldi and Sturdy have had a lot of us lately. But when we have to leave, Pippi is absolutely distraught. She can’t seem to see the fairness in us leaving the fun behind. I then said, “Pippi…how do you think I feel? I have to drive you and your sibling around all afternoon like I am a chauffeur. You guys just get to sit in the back and play and watch fun shows. Now hop up and see the fairness in that!”
Pips — I get it.
Compared to last year, Dash has very few times I get to see him perform at school.
So when I was invited to his “May Pole” celebration, he counted down the days.
He first sang some songs.
And then came the May pole.
The cutest part, was that every time he walked where he could catch my eye….there he was grinning from ear to ear.
Afterwards, I told him that he was best the best ribbon dancer I have ever seen.
He said “No I’m not. The girls were better.”
I refused his answer…and reassured him that it was him.
Right as Pippi was going to put her finger in it’s usual place, I talked to her about trying to give up finger sucking.
(Let’s be honest — her habit isn’t helping her god-given buck teeth out.)
She thought about it…
Then figured I might not see her answer if she looked the other way.
When I sent Navy off to school this morning, we both forgot that it was her performance today. (The date was changed…so it was all screwy.) A few minutes after she got to school, the phone rang, and I heard, “Mom…this is Navy. Today is my performance. Are you going to make it?” I asked her when it was. And then ran to grab some clothes…to be in my seat in 20 minutes!!!
This was her reaction, as she walked into her performance and saw me!
She was partly surprised, but mostly thrilled!
When I see my kids pitching in to help Bella with her three babies, it makes me so proud. I love that they love to do it. But more than that, I love that they know how to do it. I guess my years of teaching my kids might have paid off in this one single morning.
After two very respectable years, we finally have Cade back!
It was such a great reunion…especially for my kids who adore him.
It blows my mind that only two years ago, he was making the decision to go on a mission after Bryan was diagnosed with cancer. I remember thinking he was so brave and awesome for choosing to go. And look…two years later, and Bryan is doing great, and Cade accomplished something amazing.
After our late (almost 10pm) and awesome reunion…we drove home from LAX.
Italy time did Cade in…and this is about the cutest picture of Navy and Cade sleeping on their way home!
When we got home — Britni the great, had an entire spread out for us ready to eat. It was such a fun night…and her homemade chips and salsa really hit the spot!
