When I knew I was having a girl, I just pictured a sweet and dainty little thing. Lately, she is sweet, but as far away from dainty as possible. She has really been reminding me of her aunt Tristen who I nicknamed Godzilla long ago. A couple of examples…..First off, I taught her how to roll from her back to her tummy three mornings ago. She had her tummy to back mastered already, and after our session, she became an expert in both. I have heard of the stories when Micah was really young (can’t remember how young) when he would roll to get something. Well, my little thing is rolling all over the place as she spits up along the way. I have our entire family room covered in blankets so that she can have her fun, and I only have some laundry to do afterward….instead of carpet cleaning! When she crawls, I am a dead woman. Talk about a girl who always wants to be on the move. And with her constant practicing of getting up on her back legs, I know it’s not too far in the future.
Example #2….I was at Costco the other day with Navy, Tristen and my mom. At the bagel sample counter, I realized my mom had helped Navy to the treat of my little girl’s life. So there she was, shoving a bagel ferociously in her mouth. And when she droppd that sample, my mom demanded that I go back to get another. After four “go backs”, I finally got a package of bagels, and ripped open the plastic as quickly as I could to get my screaming baby pacified! Dainty….I don’t think so!

But after all of the mess, all of her spit up, and all of her bellyaching for bagels, she flashes me a smile, and I melt. There is just something about a smile that involves every single muscle in her face that gets me.

Belly brought Baby Navy a special gift from L.A. She knows I have been wanting to get Navy a little gold ring for a while, and found a darling little heart ring in both of their sizes. So she had a little “N” engraved on them, and got one for Icka and herself. Icka’s is too big, but she will be wearing it in about a year. I wanted to have it as a toe ring, but Belly said no. They are so cute in their little matching rings.

I should have believed Scout when he told me that there was a bird in the house. He was so excited, and I thought he was using his imagination. Apparently not.

I’ll say it again…..apparently not.
When I asked Scout about the incident, he said that when he is big and gets his bird…..it will poop “green poop” on the chair too.

I really wanted to take everyone up to L.A to be amongst the funeral attendees, but I had a funeral of my own to attend. So in honor of Michael Jackson, the Cliffords, Brockbanks and my kids did the next best thing. We went down to Laguna’s Main Beach to street perform to the Legend’s music. Skylar was the main performer, Chloe was back up, Calin had the ghetto blaster going, Trey was the $$$ collector, and the rest of us were groupies.

The best little sign holder around!

A special surprise visitor….Belly bustin’ a move!

Skilly had a great little get up. Her shirt said she loved M.J. on the front, and “I’m Bad” on the back. And in honor…..she donned a single “black or white” glove.

Our #1 fan….Bobby. He is 52, and grew up alongside M.J. He was telling Skilly and Chloe all about it. He told Skilly she was going to be famous one day, and everyone had to start somewhere. Then he told her to start really “feeling” it because he could tell she was holding back. He wanted to keep it “real” by telling her that she “stunk” compared to what he knew she could do. She wasn’t a big fan of the last part, but she misinterpreted his intentions of trying to motivate her. Bobbie was darling, and gave her the biggest tip of the day.

Skilly was pretty good, and ended raking in over nine bucks.

The group. Scout and Navy were loving the birds!
Long Live The King!!!
Scout is totally the little guy on the totem pole when Seth’s family is around. But he L-O-V-E-S it! He loves all of the action, and the craziness….even if he does take on the craziness for the month after they leave. The best is that he is the youngest of the bunch, but thinks he is right up there with the two oldest.

Micah said there is a yoga position called “happy baby” where you are on your back and hold your toes. My baby has definitely mastered the pose. Micah was showering and came out to a sleeping baby girl in her favorite pose as of lately, so he snapped some pics. It looks uncomfortable, but I get it because I used to sleep in the middle splits….so she takes after me.

Miss Clifford officially had her first day of school. I was utterly amazed that she had Scout’s attention the entire day. She is obviously a really good teacher. It could also be the curriculum. She incorporated swimming, learning about the letter A, a picnic, more learning about the calendar, and nap time into her schedule. Scout was totally bummed that she left for Utah the next day, because he wanted to go to school again! Here are the details:

I had to sign Scout in, and according to Miss Clifford, I already messed up by not putting my name…..so she added it.

Here is Scout being taught. Notice his monkey backpack that he was so excited to use. Miss Clifford has great legs….don’t you think?

Their picnic came after “Chef Jonas” (how embarassing!) whipped up a delicious and nutritious meal for everyone. And she was thrilled to be invited to the blanket.

Miss Clifford was thrilled that Scout didn’t even get one timeout on his first day. She warned me that she was going to come down with an iron fist if needed. I said, “go ahead”.

The good bye kiss. A little weird between a teacher and her student.

There is nothing consistent about Scout’s timeouts. They are never in the same place, and I don’t keep a timer so they aren’t the same length. (By the way…..who does?) Anyway, I am always amazed that when I (or Micah or Skilly on Nonnie or anyone else) puts Scout in a timeout, he doesn’t get out. When I put him there, I tell him he is in a time out and to sit and not move. And amazingly enough…he does exactly that. The kid stays there while usually talking to himself or singing and never moves. I have even kind of forgot he was in timeout a few times, and he was sitting still for up to ten minutes. Then when I go to get him, we talk over how things “should” have been handled, he has to apologize to me and the other victim, and give kisses and hugs to both as well. I am writing this down for record’s sake because I have a gut feeling that Navy Baby won’t be as easy. We’ll see. My mom is already claiming that she can see the hormones raging.
These two are finally taking baths together. They both love the other one with them. She kicks like crazy, and he takes care of her by making sure she has all of her toys. They are too cute. But why does she look almost as big as he does?
