Pinterest Bake Off

Tristen, the cousins, the kids and I had a bake off.
The rules — it had to be from Pinterest, and no bribing the judges.
img_4627.jpg
Team Lindsey (Chloe, Trey, Scout, Dash and Me) put together this cookie cup with ice cream and homemade hot fudge.
img_4630.jpg
I’ll admit that three of the judges (Britni, Trilby, Megan and my mom) were raving.  The un-raver was my mom who didn’t have it in front of her for more than two seconds when she announced that “This looks delicious, but you made the cookie cup MUCH too thick!”
img_4629.jpg
Team Tristen (Cade, Tristen and Navy) cooked for hours after us.
img_4631.jpg
No wonder — they made three desserts.
Impressive!
img_4633.jpg
The judges had already had my dessert, gone to dinner and come home.  So unfortunately, by the time they were taste testing Tristen’s desserts, they were stuffed.  But I think they had good and bad to say.
-
So who was the winner?
Nobody exactly knows.
The tasting was so far apart that everyone forgot what Team Lindsey’s tasted like by the time they got to Team Tristen.
In that case, I will gladly accept the win.
Only because if there had been time constraints, Team Tristen would have clearly DQ’d themselves.

First Swim

Honestly - I can’t really remember if this was actually Dash’s first swim.  I vaguely remember him being in the pool at other times.  But who knows — maybe that was the bath, or maybe I am remembering Scout???  But I just looked through my pictures again, and I think this might be the big FIRST.
That being said –

Of course I had just the right outfit for our littlest.
p1120824.jpg
It can’t get much cuter than a mini shark in the water.
p1120826.jpg
Obviously the kids agree.
p1120828.jpg
I held him most of the time, but Scout jumped in when I needed to get or do something with both hands.
(Such as the camera)

My first two are amazing in the water.
And they both LOVE to be in it.
Good thing that it looked like Dash was just as enamored by it.

ABC Easter Performance

Scout had his preschool program.
p1120809.jpg
It was at the park up the street from school, and I showed up a bit early to see them walking there.  It was so cute to see them all coming down the stairs.
p1120817.jpg
He had been gone the week before, so I wasn’t sure if he would hang with the other kids, but he managed just fine.
p1120813.jpg
Especially in the Easter Egg hunt.
p1120815.jpg
Both of these guys had to donate some of their eggs to the other kids in the class.
p1120808.jpg
And then it was time for an Easter feast.
We brought the sandwiches in full Easter glory.

Fun Dip

After lunch, Navy and Scout went outside with some Fun Dip.
img_4616.jpg
Navy’s spilled and she was determined to eat it all up.
img_4624.jpg
I am talking ten minutes of licking the ground.
Why didn’t I stop it?
Why do you think I sent them out with Fun Dip in the first place — to get ten minutes of adult life in — which included calling insurance companies today.
img_4626.jpg
Scout managed to get all of his Fun Dip right into his mouth which had him bouncing off the walls in no time.

Feeding The Ducks

After leaving Midway, we headed into Salt Lake for a few days at Seth’s house.  Like always, the cousins died over being together.  And on the last day, they all left for a vacation in Hawaii while Micah stayed and worked and Bella and I took the kids for a day around town.  We hit up all of our favorite stops (Four and Twenty Sailors, Children’s Hour, Tai Pan, Rumbi, Etc.)  While we were driving around, we decided to let the kids out and do something they would want.  So we stopped in Sugar House to feed the ducks.
img_4555.jpg
It was a beautiful day, and the ducks and geese were loving our bagels.
-
img_4603.jpg
Scout and Navy went through four bagels.
These feathered friends of ours must have been stuffed after we left.
img_4601.jpg
Bella had Dash, and started to play with him in a mother concerning way.
(By the way — look at the background of that picture — it looks fake it is so pretty.)
Then Bella decided to let Dash chase one particularly feisty goose.
See the play by play below:

Scootermania Part Two

Our first scavenger hunt was great, but I knew I could improve on it.  Instead of colored ribbons that were decently camouflaged, I decided to make the same green star our of painter’s tape all over.  the consistency proved to be better for the kids, and I was able to put more out.
-
The rule was to find the star, and pull off the tab that had your letter on it and stick it to your tummy.
When all ten were collected — go home.
First one home wins!
img_4523.jpg
The teams:
Micah & Scout
Britni & RoRo
img_4526.jpg
J & Grey
Bella & Sushi
(Not pictured because they were major competitors and didn’t want to stay for a pic.)
img_4530.jpg
But I did catch up with them on the Ranger to see Icka grabbing her “N” tab.
img_4533.jpg
And then as the directions stated, she put it on her tummy with the rest of her tabs.
img_4536.jpg
Micah said that Scout was awesome and found them all on his own.  Apparently he is really observant like his mom.
img_4538.jpg
RoRo was great at finding them also, and like before, he was off to get his tab before the scooter came to a complete stop.
img_4540.jpg
Poor J.
This team struggled.
And it was all hilarious until we found out J is red/green colorblind and he couldn’t see the stars.
I feel responsible and rude.
Next time I will use camo tape to make it more of an even playing field J!
img_4544.jpg
In the end, there was one star that had everyone stumped.  I put it on the street, and people rode over it a bunch of times.  Bella finally saw it, and with hints, the other three teams made their way to it also.
img_4546.jpg
My little teammate was Dizzy Dizzy Dizash.
He hung with me in the Ranger, and then finally fell asleep.
Have I ever mentioned that this boy is literally a dream?!
img_4548.jpg
Scootermania was awesome the second time around.
And all three teams (minus J) all finished within two minutes of each other.
So they all got the reward.

We hit up 7Eleven for whatever treat their little hearts desired!
