We met up with the Tacky Lackys for a fun afternoon.
But “Steel The Cheese” didn’t go too well, and Icka took a spill into the corner of a chair when she ran away from the “cat”.
(Black eye and now a bashed cheek! Poor thing.)
(I love this sad face she makes quite often. It looks like she is smelling something bad!)
So we broke out the bendaroos and art table.
And let their creative juices flow.
I love three clean babies doing what they all do best.
Scout is goofing off.
Navy is kissing.
And Dash is sucking.
And they are all doing their thing — while smelling like a million.
Lately, I have been making Dash milkshakes in the morning for breakfast.
He is obsessed, and can’t get it in to his tummy fast enough.
And no wonder — listen to this deliciousness:
Half a banana
Half a peach
6 oz water
2 scoops formula
1 scoop rice cereal
It’s kind of like a baby suicide — and he loves it until the very last drop.
These two have had a full summer. We have had super late nights, early mornings and action-packed days. They don’t stop much. So when they finally hit their pillows at night — they are OUT.
Thank goodness.
Because I have had those same late nights, early mornings and filled days!
As soon as Dash sees me in the morning, he can not smile hard enough.
I love to be loved so much.
This happy boy melts me.
And this has to be one of my favorite pictures of all time.
Although this girl could go professional with her make up skills, she knows she isn’t supposed to put any on without permission.
So look at her clever little hiding spot.
Apparently she isn’t going professional with her hiding spots anytime soon.
Dash is loving standing against things — while holding on. He thinks he is SO big. But this morning, somehow his diaper went loose on one side, and he didn’t act quite so “big”. Instead, our chair got a nice little shower.
-
No big deal — Scout was in the room to help out. So I got him a new diaper, and he did the work.
Not too bad.
Although, Scout was so annoyed that Dash doesn’t like to stay still for even a second while he gets changed.
But I taught him the trick….throw a wipe on his face, work quickly as he tries to remove it, use that wipe to clean hands at the end.
Brilliant.
And then Dash does what he is doing best lately — he took off like Speedy Bandito in these awesome Santa Clause diapers that I wish I had for every day of the year — and not just special occasions.
(Please note: Dash has been putting in a lot of hours to get on his hands and knees (vs. the army crawl), and he has made quite the strides. I don’t encourage it, because my motto is “slower is better”. But he’s pretty close to ridding himself of the army crawl all together. And in the meantime, he steals my heart when he gets frustrated and stays on all fours rocking back and forth. Just like Uncle RyRy back in the day.)
Sissy saw Bella doing my lashes.
So she announced that after I was finished, it was her turn.
So she got prepped.
(Notice her black eye — due to running into the corner of the bathroom counter.)
Bella got working.
And Sissy got one extra long lash on each eye.
When she got them, she said, “I love them. It looks like I am a princess.”
But the next day, after one had fallen off, she said, ” I don’t weally like them. I lost one, and they are too wong!”
So I guess that will tame her curiosity for a while.
As we were driving around today, I was trying to get Icka to do something she wasn’t really interested in. So I heard her call from the back, ” You aren’t my real mom anyway.” I said, “Yes, I am.” She said, “No you’re not. Bella is my real mom!” I told her that was boloney. But she then told me, ” Yeah she is because you RARELY take me on dates.”

Where does she get this stuff?
First there were nerves.
(Because I have been telling him he’s going to have to get a shot in his mouth if he doesn’t brush better.)
Then some exams.
Then checking out their “goodie bags”.
Then scouring for the perfect prize.

The doctor says:
They have excellent habits, and very healthy teeth.
But poor Scout has two teeth in the back that have problems. In the exact same spot on the upper and lower molars, he has what appear to be like holes. He was a little mystified. But I told him of the fall from the swing, and how I saw him come down and hit his chin really hard. (The reason I called the dentist was because I noticed that his molar looked like it had a big chunk cracked off - and that was one of the teeth in question.) So we think that when he hit, he cracked those teeth — and created holes that now have to be filled.

So looks like we will be back to the dentist in the near future.
