Happy Birthday Micah

Scout was up bright and early making Micah breakfast in bed.
The content — one banana, one orange, one pear, string cheese and a flower.
Looks like Scout was hoping to dive into that breakfast!

And later, we celebrated him with presents.
Wrapping…compliments of Scout and Navy.

Classroom Help

I volunteered in Scout’s classroom for “Meet the Masters” — an art program they are involved in.
It was the first time I got to see Scout in class as a Kindergartener.
img_7311.jpg
ON my way in, I caught him on the playground swinging.
I love that he runs to the swings first — despite them being the culprit that put him in his body cast.
img_7314.jpg
Before he sat down, I snapped a picture of his desk.
img_7322.jpg
Here is the art instructor doing her thing.
The class is huge because the early birds and late birds are together.
img_7330.jpg
I went around and helped everyone, but made my way to Scout a lot.
Look a the tongue-out-concentration going on.
Unfortunately for him, I saw that his coloring and penmanship was horrific compared to everyone else.
img_7341.jpg
So later that afternoon, he and Navy were working in their brand new penmanship books.
And after that — they colored for an hour.

Wild

This boy is a wild one.  He literally refuses to sit in a high chair.
img_7287.jpg
Every single time I put him in, within a minute, he is standing.
img_7296.jpg
But if he is anything like Navy, he will always stand every time and never fall, and then insist in being in a booster long before his time.
img_7290.jpg
Since I am banking on the above scenario, I just keep feeding him standing or not.

Stairs

img_7299.jpg
Whenever Dash wants someone, he reaches out his hand to them.  It is seriously SO cute.  But this day, when he reached out, I told him to turn around and come down the stairs.
img_7301.jpg
Clearly he forgot the turn around part.
img_7303.jpg
So then Navy became the teacher and kind of just dragged him down.
-
I blame Grandma.  She taught the first two successfully.  Why not the little Dash?!

Getting Ready For School

Each day, my kids like to take a personalized lunch bag to school.
img_7278.jpg
img_7276.jpg
Sometimes I do the honors.
img_7279.jpg
Sometimes the kids take their art into their own hands.
The it is off to baths and getting dressed.
img_7309.jpg
This girl has the wardrobe of all wardrobes.
img_7307.jpg
I guess that is what happens when Nonnie is wrapped around your little finger.
img_7282.jpg
And the beauty of my life is that Micah works very close to Scout’s school.  So on the mornings where it works, Micah takes Scout.  I love it, and especially love when they coordinate their father/son outfits.

A Lover

img_3709.jpg
One of my favorite things Dash does is get somewhere, stick his fingers in his mouth and then rest his head.  When he is crawling around and does it, it looks like he is exhausted and just needs a rest.  And when I am holding him and he rests his head on my shoulder, it feels like he is loving me from the bottom of his soul.

Noodles

I despise feeding babies long noodles.
img_7268.jpg
See why.
img_7273.jpg
Good thing my 5 year old…
img_7271.jpg
…and my three year old are getting the fork spin down.
Look at the determination on both of their faces.
img_7267.jpg
But we have a few years before this guy can eat noodles within my preferred guidelines of cleanliness.
Until then, I just have to look the other way — even if he is trying to share.

Family Picture Time

For the first time (maybe ever) we had a minute to spare before church started.
So I got the kids and Nonnie together for a picture.
img_7251.jpg
Navy was trying to pose up front while Scout had something going on in the back.
img_7256.jpg
Then there was some more ruckus — at least it is a kissing ruckus and not a “dukes up” one.
img_7253.jpg
Since Navy was the major culprit, I cut her out, but then Nonnie looked possessed.
So I finally told Nonnie to get behind the camera.
img_7263.jpg
I thought we might have been able to do better.
Not so much.

Work

img_7238.jpg
Not much makes me happier than when I see these two pitching in together to do their jobs.

Just Like Big Sis

I have always said Navy doesn’t have hands and feet, she has paws.
img_7154.jpg
Well look who is following in her footsteps.
Just like Sissy, his feet are about as wide as they are long.
The bad news — shoes are a joke.
The good news — they have a Nonnie who buys them a new pair every single time they go to the mall because “these might fit”.
