Sunday Stretch

Micah’s back has been giving him some problems lately.  In the past, stretching for a solid hour has helped, so he asked Scout if he wanted to join in on a Sunday Stretch.

Obviously, Scout was up for it, and even dressed for the part.
This “stretch” included proper breathing as well.

I thought Scout would be up for it for about 20 minutes.  I don’t know if it was because bed immediately followed, or what….but this boy stretched like a banshee the full 60 minutes.

Navy joined in, but came back crying about 3 minutes later because she “got kicked out because [she] wasn’t doing it right and bumped Scout”.   Likely story.  For sure, she was inching over closer and closer until she “bumped” on accident.

Where was Dash you ask?
Bringing in all supplies needed.

What??? The Clifford Touch is Back?

Trilby has been spending her time on some guy named Peter.  Blah blah blah.  In the meantime, she has completely dropped the ball on my kid’s baths.  I am not sure Dash has ever had the Clifford Touch besides the day he got home from the hospital.  And I had to totally book her for that one!  But SHE’S BACK!

Look at Dash getting the first class treatment.

First hands and then feet.

He laid still for about 10 minutes straight.  And that is quite the fete with this crazy boy lately.
He smelled like a dream after.
Teeth brushed, hair combed, ears cleaned, nails clipped, lotioned up and loosened up with a baby massage.
Talk about the good life.

Too bad for Trilby, Dash shook his yogurt bottle all over his face not 5 minutes later.

Cereal Bandits

My poor mom.
The woman can not sit down to her favorite Shredded Wheat without a gang of kids crowding around.
She always tries to sneak down, but if I have other things to do, and need a few minutes, I alert the kids, and they run after her.
Keep in mind that the following pictures are of my mom with some very uninvited guests:

But at least our boy is finally learning to be “soft”.

A Morning In The Life of Dash & Navy

When Scout is off to school, Dash has a lot of Navy time.  And here is what a morning with those two looks like:
dashs-normal-morning-02.jpg
She likes to carry him while he drinks his bottle.

She loves to rock him and sing to him while he drinks.

He calls out “Booh  Booh  Booh” a thousand times, and she starts to read to him.

Then he kisses each animal he finds.

After he bathes and gets dressed, he gets Nonnie’s pillow and lays down for a minute to inform me he wants to take a nap.
Which I can’t give him because we still need to have a small lunch and take Navy to school.
So he goes back to get his book.

And puts it where he likes to put everything lately.  Including the remote I had to fix in a bag of rice.

Look how sad he looks when he got in trouble for putting it in the toilet.
This boy has become busy, busy, busy!
I am obsessed with him, but literally wiped out by the end of the day.
I am talking bed time for me is now at about 9:00.

The Gift Giver

Scout is a boy who loves to give things to others.  So when he conned Nonnie at the grocery store to let him buy a few boxes of Fruit Loops, he came right home and wrapped them up.  On would be for him, and the other for Icka.  The wrap job was a beauty.  He made it “look like a smiley face”, and added even more treats he conned out of my mom’s nail lady and Kiko at Sushi.  I don’t know if this boy is going to grow up with wrapping skills, or con skills.

Sidney!

RoRo left to Utah, so there was a spot open at ABC Preschool.  When Miss Dianne asked if we knew of any little girl that might want to come to preschool for a few months, I knew JUST who to call!

Clearly, Navy is excited to have Sidney at school with her!

These two are two peas in a pod — both very strong willed and both a little crazy!
Perfect.

A Literal Sumo

Dash ran in to take a bath with Bella.  When he came out, he was distraught.  I didn’t understand why until I saw him.

Our very own Sumo Wrestler!
He wasn’t too thrilled.

Until I showed him the mirror and he said, “OOOH!”

Climber

dashs-normal-morning-522.jpg
If Scout had a theme song, it would probably be that says “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”!  This boy takes on any climbing challenge with gusto.  This isn’t a new discovery of his…..he has been climbing since I can remember.  Luckily he is a lot more stable now, and is pretty good about getting up and down safely.  And if he struggles — he just hangs out until I get there….like the other day he was hanging from the side of his high chair for about three minutes until I got him.  And when he gets to the top…..the little ham stands there until he gets the recognition he deserves.

Four Furry Friends

Navy would LOVE to have a/some pets.  She is an animal and bug lover.  She has always been the girl who comes to me with some sort of creepy crawly on her arms.  So when Micah came home with four caterpillars for our butterfly cage, she might have been the most excited.  (DId I mention that he came home with four, but the next morning, his fakey cage only held three.  It wasn’t until dinner that I saw one crawling along our kitchen rug!)  Scout helped get the cage all ready.  Dash just oohed a bunch. But Navy took it upon herself to be the little ringmaster of these furries.  Even though she wasn’t supposed to bother them, I had to let her have a quiet morning with them.
last-import-28.jpg
These things have become her latest obsession.
last-import-21.jpg
She was so careful with them, and loved showing them to Dash.
last-import-20.jpg
He wasn’t as intrigued - especially with them on his head, but was okay with them on his tummy.
last-import-15.jpg
They watched and watched and watched them.
last-import-11.jpg
An hour in, Dash was done, but Navy kept going strong.

I finally told her that they needed to take a rest from all of the exercise they were getting, and she reluctantly put them away in their home.

A Quick Cover Up

photo-on-3-4-13-at-218-pm.jpg
Scout was doing his homework alongside Navy, and called into me that Navy called him “Stupid”!  A very bad word in our family when referring to people.  Before I could even get a reprimand out of my mouth, she immediately yelled, “Nuh Uh!  I called him Bupid!”  Clearly, Scout heard wrong.
