Every once in a while Bella uploads some photos on my computer that are of my kids. And it is like a little treasure hunt. Like when I found this photo of a time Bella took Dash to the beach to go sea glass and heart rock searching.
Rock Searching
Cade Is Going On A Mission!
Not much is more gratifying than watching your good, kind, and worthy nephew open up his mission call.
He was SO excited!
Especially when he read that he will be speaking Italian in Milan, Italy!
It was a great afternoon!
Filled with soome of our favorite people from close by.
And others from far away.
And our very favorite of all.
And to finish off a perfect afternoon, Scout asked Jake if he would do him the honor of baptizing him!
And sweet Jake said, “I have wanted to do that since you were born!”
So sweet.
Our Orange Tree
The other day, Scout said to me, “Mom, do you know what I really love?”
Then he told me he loves our orange tree we planted a few years ago.
And I know he does, because I often find him outside devouring one…like this morning, as he sat at the base of the basketball hoop, chowing down.
New Years ‘14
There is nothing like getting the New Year started off right!
I told them this is the year of hard work….and that they were starting off with all of the bathrooms.
Scout did the counters and floors.
Navy took the bath/shower.
And the cutest boy of all became the toilet bowl cleaner.
-
Micah said, “that is the cleanest my bathroom has maybe ever been!
-
And after hard work….
Comes hard relaxing!
In-House S’Mores
How rad is Bella!
She created a little indoor s’more station that my kids were obsessed with!
No wonder she is literally all of their favorite!
New Year’s Eve ‘14
As tradition goes, we always start off New Year’s Eve with a dinner at Macaroni Grill with Micah’s whole family.
Once finished, we head home to get our festivities started….
A NYC countdown, followed by pot and pan banging, and finally the Polar Plunge.
So the countdown happened.
Then the pots and pans while we rode bikes and cars in the cul-de-sac.
(Here we are after.)
And then the polar plunge…..
But this year…our jacuzzi was busted.
So we took our polar plunge to the Marriott where there was a working jacuzzi to warm up in after.
I dropped everyone off, and parked. When I went back, I saw all of the kids in the pool while Micah sat in his chair — fully dressed.
I’ll have to admit, I was a little annoyed that he wasn’t going to join in on the plunge.
But I bit my tongue and got in with the kids.
And then as we were all settled in, the kids started complaining that Micah wasn’t in.
And then all of a sudden, he said, “Oh yeah!” and ran full speed to the pool, and jumped in fully clothed!
We were dying!
It made it so fun!
And of course, that guy had it planned that way all along.

See ya 2014.
Scout Reads
Very few things make me happier than when I see one of my kids lost in a book.
And I think it might be even more exciting, when the title of that book isn’t, “Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants”.
Local Snow!
When I woke up to snow-covered mountains within eye distance, I obviously took my kids immediately over to it.
And we obviously brought the Tackys.
And we were all obviously in dress-ups!
It was obviously the best 10 minute drive I’ve made in a long time!
Evening Cream
I don’t think Dash will ever forget the time he was woken up from a dead sleep to go and get ice cream with Bella.
He might look tired here, but he talked about their special date the whole next day.
Winter Beach Day
Nothing like a chilly beach day in December.
For jumping.
And whizzing.
Posing.
Standing practice.
Flute playing from a stick.
And hanging with our favorite buddies.
And showing off the art of finding coins, in something called a “pay phone”.
Thanks for the lesson, Scout!
