Egg Hunt ‘15

I think we are 4 for 4 — on my toddlers heading into the egg hunt just a wee bit early.
But usually I have NayNay or Ka there to make it legal.

The Real Easter Bunny

On our way out to the Dana Point Easter Egg Hunt, I spotted the “real Easter Bunny” eating grass.
I quickly turned the car around, and tried to catch him.
I had no such luck.

But Navy did!!!
With her bare hands, running and trapping alongside Scout, she caught him after about ten minutes.

I was so amazed, I let her keep him.
I mean…who else catches the REAL EASTER BUNNY the day before Easter?

Houdini

(Right before class, Scout and Navy were “enjoying” a popsicle party.)
Poor Scout was totally sick as he gave his verbal biography book report.
We have been working on this for a long time, and Scout chose Houdini, read the book, we talked about it, he wrote it, and then went above and beyond to memorize it.
Although there wasn’t much pizzazz (he barely had a voice), he did a really great job and I was impressed.
But I was most impressed with him powering through it, even though he felt so crummy.

“Impossible”

When my kids were little, I would say, “I love you”.  Then they would say, “I love you more”.  And I would say, “Impossible”.
Now days, as I put my kids to bed each night, they beat me to the punch and tell me they love me.
Then I tell them I love them more.
And they say, “Impossible”.
-
That is a full circle I love.

Shoe Shopping

I bet you can’t guess how shoe shopping went with this little girl.
Let’s just say that these two balloons weren’t treats.
They were bribes.

“Not”

img_7405-2015-03-27-at-09-34-43.jpg
My 3 year old just turned officially obnoxious.
Somehow, somewhere, he learned the word “not”, and really goes for the overkill on it.
A snippet from one minute of my life recently:
“Mom…you are so beautiful.”
“NOT!”
“Dash, will you help Pippi down the stairs?”
“Sure mom…..NOT!”
“Scout, I am coming to play basketball with you.”
“NOT!”
“Mom….I am soooo hungry.”
“NOT!”
“Navy, I love you so much.”
“NOT!”
(you get the idea)
-
I actually find it really funny, and laugh at it sometimes.  He really does have great timing.  But, when we all kneeled for family prayer and he finished his with “Amen….NOT!” I decided we needed to talk about the word obnoxious.
-
It hasn’t subsided just yet, but my fingers are crossed.
But it is all wishful thinking, because Scout’s favorite word “Psych” has been around for a while.

Quadruple Stroller

My double stroller is the best investment I have ever made.
Especially when it turns into a triple or quadruple stroller.

With Scout getting big and independent, it is usually a triple…but when he forgot his shoes at the birthday party I picked him up from, he rode.
Can you imagine what the South Coast Plaza mall-goers were thinking of me this day?
I should have been pregnant….it could have made it even better!

Spa Salon

Navy held an event at the Spa Salon today.
Micah signed up for the head massage.

And nap to follow.

Lego Event

img_6098-2015-03-28-at-09-28-49.jpg
A couple of boys got together at the Lego store this morning.
For $10, they get to build a preset thing (this month it is a robot), and then go to the Lego wall to get bricks to build another thing of their choice.
img_6101-2015-03-28-at-09-49-50.jpg
The staff gives them a story, (the robot is trying to escape, so build something to stop it), and they spend 30 minutes building…and then we get to take it all home.
Scout loved it, and the boys all had a blast.

Hand Me Down

When I have opened up the hand-me-down boxes that Scout left for Dash, they are in perfect condition.  They all look like they were worn about two times.
When I have opened up the hand-me-down boxes that Navy left for Pippi, they are a total mess.  Stained, torn, and they all look like they have been handed down six times before.

Except this beauty!
This was my mom’s absolute favorite on Navy, and she kept asking when it would fit Pippi.
And it finally does.

And for once, this little waif looks like a million bucks wearing some of Navy’s old duds.
