Kindergarten has given this girl ideas.
Pippi comes home, and lines up all of her stuffed animals to be taught. She is unclear if she wants to be Ms. Tan (her Kinder teacher), or Mrs. Denison (herself)…so she switches throughout her day. But it really seems like, is that she is Ms. Tan, when she is teaching.
And Mrs. Denison when she is “momming”.
Makes sense.

When I interrupted her teaching, with a question…she answered with, “Excuse me..please talk to the principal with that question.” As I looked over, I saw “Mr. Dash” giving me an disapproving look because I had interrupted. But I shot that disapproving look right back when I realized the principal was in his underwear! Can you say inappropriate.
For the first time for our family, Kindergarten is full day. I was so concerned about how Pippi would wake up so early each day, and then last for six hours of Mandarin Chinese. She is waking up perfectly — even excited for the day! And she loved school the first two days of Mandarin. The only problem is that when she gets home, she is asleep before we pull into the driveway. Her little body and mind are adjusting nicely…but wiping her out at the same time!
Today, I left the car doors open at home, just to let her have the rest her body so badly needed. And when she woke up, she told me all about the new words she learned in Chinese!
After the kid’s first day at school, naturally it was time to hit the beach with their buddies! And it was quite the crew today!
Pippi got her best friends — Sterdy and Goldi…AND her best classmate — Pearl!
While Dash got his fellow stooge — Grey.

Today was a great day. It was a great first day at school, and a great beach day so the kids didn’t have to completely let go of summer!
In anticipation of the very big day…all four slept in the same room. They spent half the night telling Pippi exactly what to expect on her big first day…
Can you believe it?!?!?!
All four of my kids are in real deal school!
Pippi is in all-day Kindergarten, Dash is in 2nd, Navy is in her last year of elementary school - 5th, and Scout is in 7th!
WOW.
I haven’t been by myself in 12 years.
Am I excited, or sad?
BOTH.
The girls got their backpacks from France this summer. And of course the boys got their backpacks at BYU!
I could not believe that my baby was walking in with the big kids!
Pippi has Ms. Tan, who we have never had, but she seems too sweet for the Chinese program. So that is great!
Dash is so excited to have Mrs. Chi!!!
And Scout told Navy that she got the best teacher in the whole school! Mrs. Hendershot is the perfect icing on the long Mandarin cake. But just to even it out — she also has Komine for half of the day — who we love, love, love! But she is INTENSE!
The kids got to reunite with their best friends — Conner for Dash!
And Sarah for Navy!
My kids love school, and I have been so happy with Bergeson. We are glad to be back!
And Scout was glad to reunite with the Walking Group this morning. He and his buddies met up for donuts and a mile walk to school. He was glad to have his new buddy Thompson there in the group!

This is going to be a great year kids!!!
Work hard, and do great things!
Today was the day we got ready for this school year. I love this day! New backpacks and supplies. New I.D.’s. First day of school clothes out and ready to wear. I love it all!!!
But my favorite part is the labeling of the new supplies.
THe best lart is that they are such good sports about my labeling their stuff!
That is…until they get into junior high.
Because this cool cat, decided his stuff didn’t need to be labeled this year.
At 4am this morning, Tristen’s family was leaving for Utah. As soon as Pippi heard the stirrings of them getting out the door, she ran to help! She helped bring a load of their stuff down. And as selflessly as you can imagine, she grabbed her favorite roller skates that Penn has been loving, and made sure he had them for when he got back to his house.
This girl is the kind of girl, who would give you the shirt off of her back! She is awesome.
Is there anything more fun than art with Navy and Dad?
Yep, there is!
Princess stories with Dad all to herself.
Morning protocol in the summers — journal.
Today’s prompt was…”When I grow up…”
He said, “When I grow up, I want to be a house flipper. Cause that is what my dad does. A house flipper buys yucky houses and makes it better. I like my dad more than my mom.”
Real sweet.
Then it was a morning with the cousins — the twins being Dash’s favorites.
The day ended with friends — Britni and Spencer’s kids. Dash and Tommy had a royal wrestling match. It ended with Dash taking down Tommy in the pool….but just as Tommy was heading in, he grabbed Dash…and they both lost. Or in their eyes…they both won!

Dash is so pesky lately. But so, so delicious. I have recently been calling him my little “Apple Dumpling”. He hates it! But when I say it as we cuddle, he secretly loves it! He puts on a good show of being tough — like the journal where he liked dad more than mom. But I don’t buy it one bit!
Just like I have always had Gary in my life — I think Sterdy will always be in Pippi’s life. Hopefully because they are married . But if that doesn’t work out, maybe because they are just the very best of friends.
If this isn’t little Lindsey and Tristen reincarnated, I don’t know what is. Girls…if Blush tries to copy everything Pippi does and wears, high school might be a bit rough if you are in it together. But just hold your breath for college — where you will literally have the best time of your lives!
