Pippi grabbed her Pippi book to “read” to Nonnie. She makes up the story and Nonnie listens patiently. When she was almost done, I asked Pippi who her favorite person was. She said, “Nonnie.” When I gasped, she said, “At least you’re my second.”
Pippi Reading Pippi
Special Spots
Pippi found the perfect spot for a little catnap today. She laid right under the Christmas stockings and next to the crackling fire, and slept like a baby. When she woke up, I asked if she had the best sleep. She said she did, but got right up and left her spot for something better.
Her Nonnie’s arms.
Laundry Mix Up
I think this is Scout’s way of telling me, that I mixed up Dash and his laundry when I put it away. My bad…but I told him to go to school like that, because I was sure he would be setting trends!
Where’s Malldo
When Scout heard that I was heading to the mall to oversee the young men and young women in Where’s Malldo, he said he wanted to go and dress up. I was leaving in three minutes, and he ran down with the perfect costume….WALDO!
I was totally impressed! He hung out in a chair reading his book, and he said the kids walked by him a ton of times before they found “Waldo”.

I think Micah and I could classify ourselves as very fun parents. It is so rewarding to see our kids follow in our footsteps to be fun as well. Scout is the current king of fun, but Navy and Dash are right on his trail.
Rainbow Morn
Navy spotted a rainbow this morning, and insisted I take a picture of them underneath it! It has been the rainiest winter I have ever remembered in my whole life, but we are getting the prettiest green hills and tons of rainbows out of it. So bring on the rain! Especially since there will for sure be a #superbloom this year. I can’t wait for the fields of wild sweet peas!
So Sweet
Nothing melts me the way my kid’s being sweet to each other does. Especially when I happen upon them sleeping next to each other with a book they have read together, a deck of cards they were playing together, or in this case a sweet hand on the cheek of an older sister. These two are different enough and similar enough, that I predict them to be great friends their whole life! We have already plotted out NYC girl’s shopping trips, trips back to Sanibel and our future three houses all in a row!
My future looks very bright!
Pogo Sticking
I can’t imagine the discomfort pogo-sticking would be while you are barefoot. Leave it to Navy to look graceful while doing it!
Christmas Card Outtakes ‘18
I ALWAYS have a good idea for my Christmas cards. I don’t know why I am so off this year…but this year’s card might be mediocre at best! Especially since I took my IPhone to my neighbor’s garage door, and took the photos in about 10 minutes. Yep…this year’s card is going to be a bust. My idea is to have each kid’s head surrounded by the lyrics of a Christmas tune. I am going to send it out postcard style, and cross my fingers that it is decent. At least I got a few group pictures I can frame for around the house that I like.
Because I can never get sick of pictures of all four of them together.
Skate & Meditate
Pippi is so fun to always have around. She is in her own world, and after she creates every detail…her admirers are invited in. Tonight, it was all about skating and meditating. We probably watched her for 30 minutes straight..and never got sick of her entertainment. She reminds us all of Skylar when she was younger…both are like a breath of fresh air among the chaos of life.
Neighborhood Posse
How naughty does the neighborhood posse look. Well, don’t fret…they are pretty nice.
Except this kid, who wouldn’t let me pass! And when I honked to scare him, he shot!!! He actually shot!
