When I saw Navy walking towards my room with a little bud vase of flowers, i knew she was up to her sweet ways.
Later that day, I found the flowers, with a note that says:
“The purple lavender is for Daddy because purple is his favorite color. the white allysum flower is for Mommy, because her favorite color is white. Love, Navy!”
She nailed it.
She is literally the sweetest girl ever. This is one of many things she does every single week. Her thoughtfulness is a true gift — one I wish I had more of!
Navy…thanks for the sweet treat.
I wonder if my kids will ever get sick of posing in front of my favorite house I have ever lived in?
Hopefully not.
And if they do, I’ll just remind them of the sweet tree swing that is hanging from the front tree.
(Notice that high roof that Shem fell off, and the fig tree in the back that gave my family great ammunition while fighting when we were young.)
Or I will bribe them with free pancakes at IHOP on free pancake day!
Scout decided that he wanted to start getting up before school and scriptures to do workout videos.
He is currently doing p90x, and is on day three.
I’m not sure this is going to pan out, because Dash has been a little too onery from being tired…but for now, it’s a cute scene to see.
What’s better than a little brother trying be just like the big brother?
Dash has taken a certain liking to a certain word lately. I’m not sure where it came from, or how long it’ll be here. But as of now, everything is “Guacamole”.
When I tell him he is cute, he says, “You mean I look Guacamole”.
When he is naughty, and I tell him he is dead meat, he says “just like guacamole”?
This kid is a literal knucklehead.
A first class guacamole knucklehead.
Navy’s braiding has gotten SO good!
She is way ahead of where I was at her age!
Navy and I have been looking for a way to store her shells.
When I came across these cute boxes, Navy spent all afternoon sorting and resorting her shells, so they would fit perfectly in their new home.
Megan got us these story dice a while ago. They have sat neat and tidy in our game cupboard. That is, until Pippi discovered them. Seh has spent all afternoon coming up with crazy concocted stories! And somehow, in every single story…she incorporates death - her latest common inquiry.
Lately, I’m trying to keep Dash young, so I call him my “yiddle boy”.
He “hates it” but really, he loves it!
But he is so darn cute. I wish he — of all my children — would stay young forever, because he does it so well!
For example…at a birthday party, during the group picture, look at my Yiddle Boy.
See.
He does it so well with that little heart up!
Today was the big Chinese New Year’s celebration at school.
Everyone dressed up in their garb.
But today was bigger than singing and dancing.
Today was the day where Scout had two solos!
He solo’d on the symbols in the morning.
And he solo’d on the mic in the afternoon.
That guy had a good day, and nailed it across the board!
Meanwhile my other Chinese students were in with the masses, singing and dancing!
This might look like a gang of thugs.
But let it be known, that just moments before, those thugs were helping up the only girl in the group — because she didn’t want to ruin her dress!
