Navy….my heart would die (not dyi) without you too!
Navy’s Love Notes
Jog-A-Thon ‘17
How much do I love my kids — who always thing any sort of school event, calls for an “outfit”!
Here are their Jog-A-Thon outfits for the big school run this year!
Scout had longevity.
Navy had determination.
And Dash had speed!
Dash was my favorite of the day, because he didn’t stop once!
Everyone in his kindergarten class would stop to rest, and Dash kept going and going and going.

Dear Bergeson,
I am sorry we stopped donating to this fundraiser. But when you made the laps as long as my tiny driveway, I decided to not pay for my kids to be lazy. When you extend your laps again, I will open my wallet again. Until then…I will pass out water or mark the hundredth lap on the kid’s shirts!
From a perplexed mother
Big Girl
As Pippi was doing her morning school prep, I couldn’t believe how big she seemed to me! I can’t believe that I don’t have any more babies. It is sad and glorious all at the same time! I keep telling her to stay my baby forever, but she tells me that she is going to get big so she can wear real make up. But then I remind her that she puts on real makeup every day at her makeup table — MY MAKEUP. Then she tells me that she needs her very own real makeup. Not the fake kind…the REAL kind. So I put a set of “real” makeup brushes in the amazon cart for a “needed” Christmas gift.
Kindergarten Reader
Not to brag — but I bet your kindergartner wasn’t reading Magic Treehouse books all by himself in a day!
Dash has read three in three days — and the amazing part, is that he completely comprehends them all!
He tells me the story back, and doesn’t miss anything.
Very impressive my boy.
No go and thank Nonnie!
Caped Warrior
Tonight, as Micah and I were lounging to some football, we heard the sound of a wooden pole hitting the tile floor.
As the sound came closer, we saw a little old man with a cane walk towards us.
And then we saw an entire series of nunchuk moves from the man and his cane.
And without so much as a single word, he completed his moves, hunched back over his cane, and hobbled off.

Scout you are hilarious and rad — all at the same time!
Linger Longer
Scout and Navy were so excited to hear about our ward’s new Linger Longer Sundays.
They each signed up to bring a homemade dessert…and each got up extra early Sunday morning to bake.
With my blessing, and my threat to “clean as you go”, they baked away.
Check out their masterpieces!
Navy made her famous homemade brownies with fudge frosting, and Scout made his single chocolate chip cookie with sea salt!
They were both devoured at Linger Longer — and they all got props!
And the kitchen???
Spotless upon cookie/brownie completion!
Grey’s Birthday Party
We all headed down to Grey’s birthday party on the sand. It was a good choice, because everyone in the crew had different levels of wants and needs — and somehow, the beach fulfills everyone’s list perfectly.
The Twips can run around and fool around aimlessly.
The big kid crew can act like hooligans.
And when we have all overstayed, Dash found a perfectly comfortable place on the sand.
Which was clearly more comfortable than the white chair he found en route to his bed.
I guess the beach tuckered all of us out…but maybe Dash the most!
Baby Beach Kind of Day
Today was a baby beach kind of day. I sat under the umbrella, while Pippi explored.
And eventually disrobed.
Is it even possible that we live less than a mile from this perfect afternoon spot?!
Pippi and I are some lucky girls.
Teacher’s Notes
I always love positive notes from teachers. When I got this one about Scout being so respectful and good in class, I was pretty pumped. My curiosities rose when she wrote, that he has been “being honest when I catch him doing something wrong”! I didn’t know whether to praise him for the note, or question him on what he was doing wrong. I chose the praise route…and turned my blind eye.
