Lagoon 2

We bought the bounce-back passes for Lagoon, to spend a day at their water park.

Ashley and my kids played and played.
img_2821-2016-06-30-at-16-05-16.jpg
Then they stopped for a snack and played some more.
img_2822-2016-06-30-at-16-51-20.jpg
They finally got tuckered out, and came back to home base to rest.
We decided to turn the inner tubes in, and hit up the rest of Lagoon.
img_2826-2016-06-30-at-17-56-24.jpg
So we spent the rest of the day on their rides.

It was a blast, but I am Lagooned out until next year.

NayNay Party

img_2806-2016-06-29-at-21-58-41.jpg
NayNay told the kids she would take a different one each night.  Tonight was Dash’s night, and he was so excited!  But as he was getting out of the car, Pippi fell apart worse than I have ever seen.  She cried and cried.  She kept begging NayNay to let her stay too.  NayNay asked Dash’s permission, and he said, “Sure, I like when Pippi is there too”.  Have I ever told you he is the sweetest?
So tonight’s party at NayNay’s house looked like this!

BYU Bowling

img_2803-2016-06-29-at-15-27-14.jpg
I LOVE BYU!
And I love bowling.
What better combo could there be?
img_2798-2016-06-29-at-14-50-03.jpg
Today, I witnessed the sweetest siblings.
They all helped each other out so much, and cheered each other on.
We usually have competitors in our family, so this was so nice to see.
img_2794-2016-06-29-at-14-29-53.jpg
This might be one of my favorite pictures of the trip.
Pippi bowled, and look at the troop rallied around her to watch her ball.
Navy helped her hold her ball, Dash cheered for her, and Scout was telling her “great job” in his sweet voice.
I love sibling love.
img_2805-2016-06-29-at-18-17-59.jpg
And I also love this perfect stranger who saw my mom running to the car with Pippi through a huge downpour, and asked if her could help.
Long live BYU!

Schaels

There is the hugest sporting goods store I have ever seen in Utah called Schaels.
Scout and Navy went with Ashley to it, and they sent me back these rad pictures.

Who knew there was so much fun stuff for kids in there.
And a Ferris wheel!
My kids and I drove by it later, and totally wanted to stop.
Thanks Ash!

NayNay’s House

img_2789-2016-06-28-at-21-31-01.jpg
NayNay lives right by the Utah State Capital.  So when Pippi was hanging with NayNay, they walked up to the capital to see it.  A few days later, we were driving in Salt Lake, and we drove close to the capital building, and Pippi looked over and said, “Yook!  That’s NayNay’s house”!  We all cracked up.  I called NayNay to tell her, and she melted over Pippi’s cuteness.
And now, whenever we drive by the capital, or a temple, PIppi yells out, “That’s NayNay’s house”!
She must think we live in a dump.

Bountiful Rec

Utah is filled with rec centers, because they can be used year round.
And the best part, is that they are SO cheap to get into.
So today, we hit up Bountiful Rec with Ashley’s family — and Blush of course.
img_2768-2016-06-28-at-16-05-34.jpg
img_2753-2016-06-28-at-15-33-32.jpg
Ice skating was a hit once they got the hang of it.
img_2772-2016-06-28-at-16-23-26.jpg
img_2786-2016-06-28-at-17-19-16.jpg
img_2782-2016-06-28-at-17-15-53.jpg
Rock climbing was an even bigger hit.
Swimming tied with the rock wall.
img_2777-2016-06-28-at-16-27-35.jpg
But they might have loved the snack bar the very most.
-
This place reminded me of a place out of an 80’s movie.
It was very Sandlot style with the teenage lifeguards, and kids running around everywhere.
It was a major hit with the kids, and I loved the variety and price tag.

Expressive

img_2747-2016-06-27-at-19-40-36.jpg
This is just one of the many faces that Pippi has perfected.  This might be the most expressive little girl on Earth.  Her Great Grandma calls her the “little actress”, and I think that sums her up perfectly.  She is classic.

The Ropes

img_2743-2016-06-27-at-13-16-53.jpg
First off, my kids are obsessed with baby Blush.
And when I see this picture, I am not really sure what is going on between them.
But I’d like to think that Dash is telling Blush all about life and what to expect.
The good, the bad, the ugly.
When this picture was snapped, I think he was talking to Blush all about teasing, and how to never tease.
You can see that Pippi has lost interest at this part, and is zoned out.
Figures.

Aspen Grove ‘16

img_1268-2016-06-26-at-15-58-36.jpg
After Sundance, which was a bust, we drove to Aspen Grove and let the kids just run and run while we sat in the shade.
Things worked better there.
img_1275-2016-06-26-at-16-05-27.jpg
Look at the sheer happiness on Pippi’s face.
She kept begging and begging B to push her.
img_1280-2016-06-26-at-16-10-58.jpg
Then it was time for a drink, which she couldn’t figure out.
(But check out this great dimple picture.)
img_1291-2016-06-26-at-17-06-50.jpg
Like she comes to everyone’s rescue, Navy came to Pippi’s rescue.
img_2738-2016-06-26-at-17-24-18.jpg
img_2739-2016-06-26-at-17-22-03.jpg
Airplane is always a hit.
img_1287-2016-06-26-at-16-23-00.jpg
And their grass hill might be the best I have ever seen for kids to roll down.
Although, Pippi wasn’t quite rolling.
It was more of a scoot and turn, scoot and turn.
img_1283-2016-06-26-at-16-16-49.jpg
But of everything there was to do in Aspen Grove, I think Pippi liked sitting next to Nonnie, with her finger in her mouth, the very best.

Sundance ‘16

My kids and I have always loved going to Sundance, and heading up the lift.
It is by far one of my favorite places to take pictures, my kids love exploring and hiking around, and I think it’s a perfect Sunday afternoon activity when on vacation.
I was excited to show Micah what all the hype is about.
img_1185-2016-06-26-at-13-56-52.jpg
For the first time ever, I let Scout ride up by himself.
I knew he is responsible enough, and mature enough to never fool around on the gondola.
img_1191-2016-06-26-at-14-00-49.jpg
Micah and I got our very own special date with Icka on the way up.
We tried spotting animals, lost items of clothing, and necklaces thrown on the pine trees.
We were followed by the little ones with B and Nonnie, and Bella’s family on another gondola.
img_1198-2016-06-26-at-14-20-21.jpg
You’ll be surprised to see Scout immediately finding the vending machine and looking for change!
img_1200-2016-06-26-at-14-21-04.jpg
You probably won’t be surprised to know that he found three quarters.
Once we were up, I started taking pics.
img_1203-2016-06-26-at-14-24-01.jpg
How darling are these kids of mine!
img_1208-2016-06-26-at-14-25-26.jpg
And the husband too!
img_1216-2016-06-26-at-14-26-18.jpg
And can you believe it???
I am finally in a photo with my family because Tristen was there to take a few photos!
I couldn’t resist a photo with this amazing scenery.
I really think winter or summer, this might be one of the most beautiful places ever.
Unfortunately, my past experiences — beauty and all — have been way more fun.  I credit it to really, really tired kids.  But man were they cranky.  Dash cried about six times.  Scout didn’t smile much.  Navy tried to put on a happy face for the click of the camera.  And Pippi just didn’t do much to make a family photo session easy.  So finally, we let the kids loose to explore, and I took some candid photos.

Candids are usually my favorite anyway.
img_1254-2016-06-26-at-14-47-11.jpg
But I think the expressions on their faces in this picture express exactly what I was feeling….
Let’s get the heck out of here!
img_1263-2016-06-26-at-15-21-21.jpg
So off we went.
