“Piece of Junk”

img_9753-2015-11-15-at-17-17-38.jpg
Seth’s kids left after Thanksgiving, and I am pretty sure that Dash picked up “Piece of junk” from them.  But to be honest, it may have been from Scout — who probably got it from Seth’s kids the last time they were here.  That being said, Dash has thought it was funny and appropriate to call me a “piece of junk” lately.
Well, many trips to time-out, and a few flicks have reminded him that he is way off.
So I commended him this morning, as he looked at me and through gritted teeth, he said, “You piece of not junk”!
I know it seems twisted, but he got a “good job” from me.
Hey…a baby step in the right direction is still a step in the right direction!

Fuzz Love

img_0038-2015-12-03-at-12-40-00.jpg
Wherever Pippi and I happen to be shopping, she “Uh Uh Uhs” until I grab her the fuzzy thing she is eyeing.
And when I get it for her, she cuddles it until she sees another fuzzy thing, and “Uh Uh Uhs” all over again.
I think it goes back to the love she has for her green fuzzy NightNight.
And these all serve as temporary replacement, until she can be reunited with her favorite fuzzy of all.

Daddy’s Shoes

When I got a call from Micah that Scout forgot his shoes for school, I asked him what extra pairs he might have in the car.  Good thing he had an extra pair of tennis shoes.  I told Scout to enjoy a day with clown shoes on!
And then I Emailed Scout’s teachers:

There was no response from them — so I didn’t do anything, but let him learn a lesson about being careless in the morning.

When I picked him up, I thought he would have told me embarrassing stories.  But no — all I got was how cool everyone thought it was.
-
Too bad I got a text from Ally Shupe who was touring the school that day, saying: “I am looking at your boy in class right now!”  I quickly responded with, “Don’t look at his fett.  And if you do, I’ll explain later.”

Family Bed

Nothing beats a family bed!
Except maybe… a family bed at Grandmas!

Darling Sissies

Although this is a terrible photo, I love these two sisters.  Navy is soooo sweet to Pippi.  And Pippi adores Navy. Here, Navy was trying to introduce Pippi to the art of making paper airplanes.  Pippi watched on, while she had her arm around Navy’s waist the whole time.  And check out that hair style! Pippi let Navy do her hair — and kept that loose pony in all afternoon, just because Navy did it!
This photo is poor in quality, but rich in mutual adoration.

Stuffed Animals

I’ve never met a child that loves stuffed animals like Pippi.
She has about 6 in her bed at any given time, and often, she has one in her arms.
So when my mom came home from a lunch at the Montage, she brought Pippi a treat.

We were all oohing and aahing over the cutest and softest doggy she was getting.
She looked at it, mumbled something, and then ran off.
I’m not sure if that mumble was, “I love it, and will be back for it later.”
Or, “Feel free to take this back, because I prefer kitties.”
Based on the fact that she never returned for her new dog….my guess is the latter.

Navy Notes

It is not uncommon to walk around the house to see a note with your name on it.
I like to call these Navy Notes.

They are full of cute little things that makes the recipient happy.
And today, we lucked out!
There was a huge scattering of these all over the place!

He’s Back!

Krispy is back — with his hat on backwards!
Remind me why I started this awful tradition!?
My kids love him, and are bummed that he only comes 10 days for our family.
I kind of loathe him.
I always forget to hide him.  Someone is always freaking out because he got touched.  And December is already crazy enough!

But to my kid’s delight, he brought advent calendars for each of them.
And after they found him, I told them the exciting news!!!
Santa sent a note that said, we are almost off the “watch list”.  He says our kids are almost good enough to not have to have an elf next year.
Then my kids plotted that they were going to be bad, just to keep him.
Then I told them — be too bad, and Christmas is off.  Be good, and I bet we still get him for 3-5 days next year (for the youngens)!
Let the whittling down begin!

Best Friends Vid

img_0197-2015-12-01-at-19-51-00.jpg
I think this might be the 63rd time these two kids watch the “Best Friends” video I made of my four kids.
It is to die for — they laugh in all of the same places, they oooh at the same places, and they both beg to watch it again after it is finished!
Where is Scout you ask?
Showering…and minutes away from squeezing in right between them.

Tight Bands

img_0006-2015-12-01-at-11-11-50.jpg
Pippi got into Scout’s silly bands, and almost cut off her circulation for good.
From the moment I took this photo, until they were all off her wrist, her hand turned dark blue.
My mom spotted them first, and I felt sick that I didn’t see her into them.
Thank goodness for Eagle Eyes Patty Poo.
(Scout did this exact same thing when he was little, with a random small rubber band.  I was holding his hand in the movie theater, when I realized that something was really wrong.  His hand was totally swollen, and purple — but nothing like the dark blue on little Pips.)
Scary stuff.
