Scout and Navy had their annual eye appointments today.
Dr. Weiss said both have a slight astigmatism that may manifest itself in future years. And that I need to watch for it. But when I think about it, Dash and Pippi had the same diagnoses. What? Maybe Dr. Weiss is a broken record. Or maybe Micah and I produce cookie-cutter babies.
Thank goodness for Dash, who has personally decorated our home for Halloween and Thanksgiving this year.
Notice this rad turkey!
I asked him all about it.
He said the red part coming out of his chin was his “gobble gobble”.
We won’t go into what he told me the other red part was.
I got this picture from Grandma, telling me that Dash wanted a hamburger.
So they went to A’s Burgers, and he downed this whole thing.
So you are saying I might have a meat eater??!!??
When I heard Pippi grumbling from the next room, I went to investigate.
Apparently, her grumbling was saying she was stuck.
I told her I would get her out, but that she needed to smile for the camera first.
This is her “smile”.
And then she gave me “the look”.
The look that says…put your camera down and “get me out”!
Today, Navy said, “Dash….you are being so awesome!”
To which he replied, “NO! I am just being Dash.”
That’s right my boy.
Since Scout was little, we play “Stump the Chump” against the missionaries after dinner.
But today, we pushed the plates back, and Scout challenged us all to a paper airplane contest.
We folded, and refolded.
And flew and flew them.
—
No wonder Scout challenged us all.
He dominated by a long shot!
I can just hear his voice saying, “Better luck next time Suckas”!!!
In our home, there is a rule of no locking doors.
But Nonnie and Daddy break that rule sometimes.
So my kids have learned the art of “hanger”ing.
Navy is the pro.
Scout is like Macgyver.
Dash isn’t too shabby.
And Pippi…….she is way too young.
Yeah right!
Just a few more masterful and creative styles by “Navy’s Salon”.

Scout is rad. He gets on kicks, where his only goal in life is to be an awesome kid. And when he gets on those kicks, Dash is right behind him. So tonight, after cleaning the kitchen, I went upstairs to see that Scout had cleaned the upstairs, and was in the middle of changing Pippi’s diaper and getting her ready for bed. I think this may be the first time he has ever changed the diaper without an adult helping.
But he did get help from Dash, who was 100% in.
The results were perfect in my eyes.
It was Pippi who had unmet expectations.
When I realized that my skirt matched my kid’s outfits, I had Micah snap a few pics before we undressed after church.
Here’s the outcome:
I’m not sure if this disaster can be blamed on subject error, photographer user error, or most likely — Dash error!
