Booby Trap

(This may look like harmless play in the sand…but read on!)
Seth and Brett took my kids to the park for an hour.  When we went to pick Brett up for some Red Balloon shopping, the kids ran to my car and told me I had to get out to see what Dash was doing.  I ignored it a few times, but their constant persisting finally got me out there.  As I walked over, they were all acting a little funny, and Seth had his video camera out, so I could tell that they had set up a booby trap for me to walk in — and the Dash story was just a ploy.
So in good fun, but with a trick of my own up my sleeve, I headed in the direction of the trap.
I watched them all walk over the trap, with an extra large step in one particular area.
So I started walking — and out of the corner of my eye, I could see all of the kids almost bubble with excitement.  As I got to the spot, I made sure that I was going to take that same extra large step.  And with a smile on my face, I was just about to say “Suckas!!!” when my foot went in too far, and I totally bit it!
They were all dying.  Especially Seth, who knew I was onto it.  Afterwards, I told them I guessed correctly, but must have miscalculated.
Needless to say, my shoe had sand in it the rest of the day, and I kept getting annoyed at the kids — and myself for being so clueless.
(For the record, Scout and Christian were the stinky culprits who had already caught a few other victims in their traps.)

Girl Cousins

After a delicious morning of breakfast burritos with Micah’s stamp on it, we were all slumped on the couch.

Except Navy and Rose, who were washing, drying and putting the dishes away!
I never had a girl cousin that became a best friend, so I am glad to see Navy has Rose.  These two get along famously, and basically enjoy everything the same.  How lucky for both of them.

The Morning After

After a long Thanksgiving Day, topped off with Black Friday shopping, the calm morning scene was a welcome sight.

It was a quiet morning, filled with puzzles and chapstick.

Pippi The Performer

img_9932-2015-11-26-at-19-44-37.jpg
After Thanksgiving Dinner, the family gathered around to hang out and laugh.  The biggest laughs came when “Pippi the Performer” got up on the table to dance for everyone.  We were instructed (by Pippi) to put on Whip and NayNay.  So as the tunes played, Pippi danced.  And when we tried to change the song, she demanded it back.
I am pretty sure it is her signature song.

Thanksgiving ‘15

As usual, Thanksgiving was great.

We started off with the Turkey Trot, then had a fun morning in the street.

After, we headed to Auntie Gails.

We finally ended up at home for our final feast.

MerMan

I L-O-V-E this photo.
I am always with my kids, and take almost every photo they are in.  So when Brett was in town, and showed me this picture that she had on her phone, I told her to send it to me immediately.  It was from when she took her own kids — and mine to Strands beach.
For whatever reason, I loved seeing this little gem of a picture.
Maybe because it is my boy having a blast with his cousins.
Maybe because it is a peek into his life when I’m not around.
Maybe because I am just obsessed with this happy little boy.

Neighborhood Picnic

You have to love a neighborhood full of good kids.  Talk about good, clean fun.  A picnic while playing apples to apples.  I was so impressed, I drove over to Trader Joe’s to provide treats and goodies to go with their goldfish crackers!

Nonnie’s Boys

No matter how old you are, sometimes you just have to crawl into Nonnie’s arms, to hear her famous nursery rhyme songs — while being rocked.

Navy’s Choreography

A lot of times, while my kids eat breakfast, I dance for them.  But today, Navy got Pippi her breakfast, and choreographed a dance for Dash and her to perform.
After a few rounds of it, I was called out to see the masterpiece.
Here are some of their moves:

They had their cheat sheets in their unders if they needed to remind themselves what was next!
So I asked to take a look at the papers…..

And died over how stinking cute they were!
Navy…you are awesome, and out danced me on my very best day!

Big Sis

img_9887-2015-11-23-at-11-17-53.jpg
After two long days of rock hounding, I slept in until 9:00pm.  When I got up, Navy was playing a game with Dash and Pippi.  She is the cutest and sweetest big sis these kids could ask for.
