Brit Gift
Just a little treat from Britni was sitting on my counter when I got home today.

I love how we can always do nice things for each other — like the time I surprised you with a fun night of camping in your backyard!
Color Puzzle
This puzzle has always been a favorite of my kids.
Until the magnet drops the ball a few times, and then each kid of mine has a melt down because they can’t complete it.
No worries — Mom always fills in, and we usually get it done.
We can’t wait to pass this beauty along to Bella and her new baby!
Reece
The Nichols moved back from Shanghai, and my kids are stoked.
Especially Scout who has really hit it off with the toughest girl next to Navy — Reece.

Short Cuts
Why go around with every other kid in school, when there is a shorter way to get to morning line up?
King BooBoo
My poor little Dash has a nickname of King BooBoo.
I’m guess that it’s pretty self-explanatory.
But look above — when a three year old thinks he can hang with ten year olds, I guess BooBoo’s are bound to happen.
Poor guy came home with a chin injury.
But moments after this — he didn’t put his shoes back on (his mother advised him sternly) and he sliced open his middle toe really badly.
It took 20 minutes for it to stop gushing, and two bottles of water to clear out the blood that had spilled everywhere.
Poor guy.
He spent that night on the couch with several Band-Aids and socks on — and an elevated foot.
And the mom — I kept re-guessing my decision to not take him for stitches.
Pooped
School has really been a lot of action for this little boy.
As I was driving, I looked back to find Pippi and Dash both sound asleep in their seats.
And just to think — this was on the way to school — I actually had to wake him up to tell him it was time to get out of the car so he could go to school.
Good thing he woke up with a smile, because this little guy was excited for school day #2 of his life.
(Please let the excitement never die!)
Oatmeal Mess
This independent eater thinks she can tackle anything.
But I gave her a humbling experience when I served her oatmeal this morning.
Dash’s First Day of Preschool!
A very long-awaited day finally came today in the life of my sweetest child.
To lose Dash every day sounds horrible, but if there is one boy who is anticipating school — he is the one!
So we made this day special!
Of course he had to pick out his outfit the night before — and we even laid it on top of him to see if it was going to be great.
Thumbs up from him!
He was up bright and early to get eat and get dressed alongside the other school-goers.
He was totally sad when they left and he had to still wait for his school to start.
But we passed the time wisely.
First, we made him a special “first day of school lunch bag”.
Then he spent quality time with the Pips (his every-day sidekick) singing nursery rhymes.
Check out his “round and round” from her favorite “The Wheels on the Bus”.
Then every boy going to school needs to be properly coiffed — so Nonnie worked her magic.

He was finally ready to go.

It’s time!!!
It’s finally time!!!
He already knew that he loved Miss Dianne, but I think he fell in love all over again this morning.
(And then the Pips and I drove off — a little confused about what we were going to do next.)
After picking up the big kids from school (and waiting for Ka who really wanted to see Dash picked up from his first day at school) we headed over to get him.
Scout and Navy were totally excited to see their alma mater, and do the whole pick up thing for their little brother.
But before everything else, they ran in to give Miss Dianne a huge hug!
Then they grabbed Dash, and wanted to know every detail!
Then they explained how every day that they were there, they would let me wait in the car while they signed him out.
Dash had an amazing time, and showed off his very first project — his bumblebee!
And then it was time for sibling pictures.
And of course one pic of the lady who made my kids all love school from the very first moment.
Thank you Miss Dianne for being the biggest fans of my kids — and for loving them almost as much as I do!
