When Britni called to tell me it was really low tide at RoRo’s beach, we went over for the afternoon. I love her place, because it is the best of both worlds. My kids have a blast out in the sun and water. While I enjoy the view of happy kids while I sit in the air conditioning.
Low Tide
During Practice
While Scout is at football practice, my kids play.
Good thing there is a pretty kid-friendly park right next to the practice.
But even they get sick of the park after a very hot 60 minutes.
So then we check out the horse stables that house a rad zebra!
Painted Ninja
Pippi has recently learned how to get out of her crib.
She is as silent as a ninja, and is very attracted to my make up…hence the Painted Ninja.
Unfortunately, the paint doesn’t only make it onto her face.
Like today, it was all over her feet, legs and hands….and the CARPET!
After an hour of cleaning the trail of make up on the carpet leading into the family night room….I finally dealt with her.
But when I realized the Painted Ninja has ugly crying disease, and clearly felt remorseful, I just gave her a hug and some make up tips, and sent her on her way.
Outdoor Family Night
When the kids were outside playing, and I saw Pippi grab her shoes while begging to go out, I knew our Family Night plans needed to change.
So tonight — Family Night was an outdoor bike-riding, plane-making extravagana.
And sometimes, those are the best kind.
These three pretty much consumed themselves with every bike or car we have in the garage.
While Scout and Dad made and threw paper airplanes back and forth.
They were challenging each other to see who made better planes.
Scout dominated, while Dad’s kept bombing.
There is even proof.
Navy started to take score for the “Butterflier”, named by Dad for his amazing paper airplane.
As you can see, the Butterflier “failed and failed again and failed again”!
Sorry Dad….Scout just has the origami/paper airplane touch.
Lunar Eclipse
Just checking out the lunar eclipse tonight in our undies.
Minus Navy, who has a little pride.
Actually — she has the least amount of pride — why the heck wasn’t she in her undies?
Happy Birthday Micah
For Micah’s birthday, we had a fun family afternoon in Julian.
We went apple picking, went to a rad pumpkin patch, bought a pie and stopped a few other places.
We all had a really great time.
Then we went home for Thai food, and more football than you can imagine.
Happy Birthday Babe — from those who love you most!
Reading Morning
We are really trying to pump our reading time — and abilities, so this morning started off with a few chapters for everyone.
And Dash — his reading is to die for.
He says every letter out loud, and thinks he is the coolest reader that there ever was!
Bubble Girl
I don’t have a picture — only a video, but Navy pulled the most classic Navy of all time tonight. As all of the kids came out of the bath, she came out with a towel around her….blowing bubbles. At first I couldn’t figure out what was going on. But then I realized that she had somehow put a layer of soap around her mouth, and was touching her lips together to create bubbles. And I am not talking about two times — she blew them for ten minutes straight.
We were all amazed.
It was one of the coolest/wackiest things I have ever seen.
That girl is priceless.
