Missionary Feast

img_4900-2014-12-08-at-17-33-37.jpg
I like to feed the missionaries once a month.
But sometimes, as I am running around like crazy, and can’t get a meal for 10+ ready in time, I ring-a-ding-ding them, and tell them to meet us at Five Guys.
And they happily oblige!

Pacing Herself

When I was away in NYC, I made a chart where the kids could earn chocolate coins.
img_6622-2014-12-08-at-16-47-22.jpg
We passed them out tonight, and Navy then went in and made herself her own chart.
It reads:
“For Navy….1 a day, 1 a night. [heart] Navy.”
Nice way to implement a little self control.
And if I could suggest one thing: Keep this chart far away from the boy with NO self control.  Because the second Dash gets his hands on those chocolates, they will be in his tummy.

Entertaining

Navy is excellent with the Pips.  And as we go to pick up Scout, they are usually laughing and playing the whole way there.  But today, I noticed that the two of them were rather quiet.  When I turned around, I saw Navy’s eyes glued to the TV.  (I hate kids glued to the TV!)  When I told Navy that she was missing quality time with Pippi, as her brain was getting dumber by the moment, she said, “Nuh Uh.  Pippi is playing with my foot, and I am telling my brain not to get dumb!”

Non Stop!

img_4894-2014-12-08-at-13-09-08.jpg
All of my kids have been movers and shakers.
Pippi is no exception.
This girl is always trying to be on the move, and is known for never sitting still.
Notice our time in Trader Joes.
The entire 35 minutes I was there, she was trying to wiggle her way out of the tight seat belt I had around her.  Unfortunately, she is so tiny, that even the tightest setting doesn’t keep her in her spot.  That being said, I always have to get creative.  In Toys R Us, she gets to play with toys until check out.  In Costco, I find her a baby book to read through while stopping frequently at the taste testers.  And in Trader Joes, I just open any decently mess-free food and stuff her full.
At checkout, there were two apple sauce packets, one banana peel, and a bag of pretzels that were open.
Whatever works.

SnapChat

img_4893-2014-12-08-at-11-36-49.jpg
Skilly reported to me that she got an unusually high amount of “likes” with this SnapChat.
I’d like to report that I am embarrassed that she knows how many she got in the first place.
But that she should add one to the list, because I definitely “like” it.

13 Month Walker

img_4891-2014-12-07-at-18-19-42.jpg
It is hard to get a non-blurry picture when you have a WALKER!
It only took 13 months, but she is finally official.
When I left to New York, she held her record at 8 consecutive steps.  And every time I called home over the short 5 days away, they would tell me that Pippi was walking everywhere.  I took it with a grain of salt because I was only gone a few days.  But when I came back, it was completely legit!  She was cruising everywhere.

Krispy

img_4889-2014-12-06-at-22-34-59.jpg
When I got home from NYC, I saw a note on one of the kitchen chairs.  Upon a closer look, I realized that our Elf on the Shelf, Krispy, was sitting there.  And the note was from Navy who wrote, “Please be careful.  Crispy is on this chair.  I love you Crispy.  Love Navy and Dash.”   When I saw it, I was so excited to be home.  Especially to my girl who writes me about six notes a day.  Navy is always watching out for people and things, and making sure those people are happy and those things are safe.  And if there is any reason to write a note to those people or about those things, she gladly takes that opportunity.

New York City

Brit needed a trip.
I needed a trip.
Bella needed a trip.
So we all figured out that we would head to NYC and stay with G Funk.
At the last minute, Bella couldn’t go, so I mentioned to Summer to get her ducks in a row…and less than 24 hours later, she was on the plane next to me.

When I got to the airport, I opened my backpack to a bunch of letters from Micah.
img_4786-2014-12-02-at-08-26-54.jpg
There were little treats and gifts for my trip.
Including a pair of tickets to an upcoming private screening to Unbroken — the movie adaptation of one of my favorite books — that will have family members and producers of the movie.
How awesome is my husband!!

This was my second favorite envelope!

When we got there — this was the gang.
G Funk was an awesome host, and the four of us had a blast together.
img_4875-2014-12-06-at-19-28-26.jpg
In Times Square, we made faces on the jumbo tron.
img_4856-2014-12-05-at-20-03-11.jpg
In the Broadway Theater, we saw “If and Then” — a mediocre musical at best.
img_4817-2014-12-03-at-19-34-38.jpg
The holiday lights were magical.
img_4813-2014-12-03-at-19-33-43.jpg
And the Selfie taking was at an all time high for this crowd — except Summer who was on a selfie diet…at only 10 a day!

I discovered my love of dogs once again with Wyatt, who is arguably the sweetest dog alive.
img_4871-2014-12-06-at-19-28-13.jpg
And we hit up a new favorite — Eataly.
I love all of the hotspots we hit, and all of the tried and trues we hit.
But Eataly is now on my list of must-gos, when I am in NYC from now on.

G Funk — it was a much-needed and fantastic trip!
And a huge thanks to Mama Mia and the Shmickity Dickity for holding down the fort!

Star Wars Rebels

When we found the new cartoon “Star Wars Rebels” it was very bittersweet.
Sweet, because my two boys love it, and it seems like a decently appropriate show for them.
Bitter, because I have heard, “I am going to go Star Wars Rebel on you!” too many times!
Following that statement has come a lot of tears.
And then I go “furious mom” on them.

Old Navy

Just a little accessorizing in Old Navy, while I use Scummy’s discount to get a few things for my upcoming NYC trip.
