Skilly went to prom with the most darling boy — Nate.
Nonnie, who buys the prom dresses for her grandgirls found a winner!
And your truly did the hair.
She got ready at our house, and it was really nostalgic to the day I went to prom.
Maybe because Nonnie pinned the boutonniere the same way she did on Micah.
There was a full blown paparazzi taking photos.
Do I see a little love in the air?
Better watch out Skilly — I married my prom date.
A little secret that I have — I HATE fake tattoos!
I hate the mess they make, I hate how ugly they are, I hate how the kids whine when I’m taking them off, and I hate that the moments I need them off — they don’t remove easily!
So you can imagine how I felt about this monstrosity!
But nothing was worse than…
The fake tattoo in the hair.

Shoot me now!
Just a little homemade peanut butter I whipped up.
I love it….but you’ll never guess who loves it the most!
Only my self-appointed vegetarian (minus bacon), who is always lacking a little protein in his life.
Good thing we found some protein he will devour by the cup full.
It is almost to the point where I have to limit his intake.
Yesterday, he ate 3/4 of a cup of it for a snack.
We had a few extra minutes this afternoon. So I grabbed a few of Pippi’s empty baby food jars, and added cream. The kids and their neighbor buddies shook and shook and shook, and they all made their own butter. So I toasted up some bread, and then they ate the results of their “really cool science experiment”.
Scout created his very own “book club” - where the members create their own books.
The first book was “The Story Book”.
“My Club. My club is a book. The rules are that you can’t cheat and look at others people’s workbook. And never….”
“…be bad. Come to Scout’s book club on Saturday.”
He found a really special place for his book, and had one of his special Lego machines protecting it.
-
Wanna know who the very first member of Scout’s book club is?
Just take a guess!
It isn’t often that I am in my bedroom in the afternoon.
But those unusual days that I am, I often see one of my kids mid-lap.
You know….where they go around and around our house — scaling walls, climbing fences and walking tightropes.
Look at what I saw in my ice drawer!
You’ll never guess what is inside…
You can’t tell what these two weasels are up to?
They were just doing a science experiment titled, “Freezing a Worm”.
Scout’s class has been due for a party for a month or two.
(That wedding really did me in!)
So I finally planned for today to be the day.
I had it all arranged and planned….a scavenger hunt followed by a donut eating competition.
And come to find out….it was the most ridiculously appropriate party, because it is officially “National Donut Day”!
And needless to say…the party was a hit.
I think I will be celebrating National Donut Day every year with a party!
Good thing Scout’s school sent a pre-recorded message that I heard playing over our answering machine this evening.
Because Grandparents Day just wouldn’t be the same without his Nonnie.
I am pretty sure this kid has a solid future in sports reporting.
He would be a decent color commentator, but his real talent is in the play-by-play commentating.
Whenever I am with him, he literally play-by-play commentates everything we are doing.
For example:
“We going to da store. We buying some milk for our bwekfast. You turn on the radio, mom? I wike the radio. Dis a great song! It is ‘Cry Baby’. Pippi is da cry baby. Not me. I a big boy. You see dat?!?! Is a woo woo. (ambulance or fire truck) Yook at dat! Is a monster truck! You see dat! Das is a bird fwying.”
And that is the first 20 seconds of our drive to the store.
You get the picture.
