The never-ending year has finally come to a close!
Hallelujah!
On our way out, I snapped a picture of Scout with his awesome teacher, Mrs. Komine.
We are crossing our fingers that she moves up with the class!
PLEASE!
She was strict, no-nonsense, demanding, and good.
She always had the boy-heavy class completely following the rules.
She loved Scout, but didn’t put up with silliness.
I got an Email one day from a fellow classmate’s mom about how sorry they were that Scout’s paper was ripped up in front of the class because it was sloppy. And was he okay?
I never even heard about the incident, and when I asked Scout about it, he said, “yeah….she thought it was sloppy, so she made me do it over.”
BRAVO!
My favorite part of Mrs. Komine was that I love that she loved Scout.
She was the first person to defend him when he would get in trouble on the playground….”He is just a boy, and plays the way boys do!”
She was the first person to praise him….every time I would pick him up and she was on duty, she would come to the car to tell me how well Scout was doing and that he is SO smart!
She really does love him.
She told me this a few times, but reiterated it on his graduation poster.
“Thank you for being a student I can always show off to our visitors!”
She told me over and over how well Scout was doing in Mandarin, but specifically….that any time a visitor would come to observe the class, she would call on Scout, because she new he would have the right answer each time.
Mrs. Komine….fight like the dickens to move up.
And if you don’t…try to move down to Kindergarten to get Navy!
