Big Boy Underwear

How come the day Scout started wearing big boy underwear, he never keeps his clothes on?  I think it’s in the blood.  His dad is a big show off!

Scout is Classic!

Scout just had the biggest meltdown because I put him down for a nap (or for what we like to call “quiet time” now).  I have been working on my computer for the last 35 minutes as he has been tantruming it up.  He finally quieted down about 10 minutes ago, and I assumed he finally cried himself to sleep.  Apparently not, since when the door chime sounded a second ago, and the door opened and closed, he called out, “Come in!”

Valentines Day

Scout’s two darling Valentines.

Cupid struck this Valentines Day.  We were still in Palm Springs, and the morning started off with Valentines treats, then a delish breakfast, and then we were off to church.  Too bad that I forgot church attire, and Beth (Scummy’s mom) is smaller than I am, so I headed to church in jeans.  I know it is a little off, but when Scummy asked why I didn’t wear her mom’s dress, I said, “that outfit was more disrespectful than me in jeans anyday!”

Scout and navy made this card for their biggest Valentine.  Micah loved it, and loved the pictures from a magazine that Scout said reminded him of his dad.  (Eggs, a bike, a suitcase, a laptop, etc.)  Cute.

The kids got a bunch of pink/red/heart candy.

And the boys got these sashes that they wore to breakfast.  Good thing they took them off before church.
But the very best part of my day — without question — was when Micah gave me a little box of candy.  And tucked in amongst the candy was a three page love letter.  I could go ALL year long without anything…as long as I get my love letter!  Every girl should get one, but I am one of the lucky few who actually does.

Palm Springs

Micah, Tacky and Nate Carlson rode in the 50 mile bike ride in Palm Springs over the weekend.  (Although Tacky corrects us to make sure we know it was a “57″ mile bike ride according to his odometer.)  The ride was great, and Scummy had us stay with them at her parent’s place.  It was great — new, nice, clean, and had a pool.  Here are the boys after the ride:

Don’t let the smiles fool you — they were all cramping up in the hot tub.

Icka found anything and everything to climb.

Scout was in heaven when he caught some t.v. in this pool toy.

Just one of the surprise pictures I saw when I rifled through my pictures.  Scummy and Gordon the gorgeous.

A little boy vs. girl mishap.  Scout was jumping in the jacuzzi, and got Berkley mid sentence.   The poor little thing bit her lip.  The cute part was when Scout gave her a hug and a kiss and told B he was sorry, she said, (in her little angel voice) “that’s alright.”

Frontwards

When putting Scout’s underwear on today, I accidentally put them on backwards.  I said, “Oh no….I put them on backwards.”  Then Scout said, “Oh bummer.  You are so silly.  Put them on frontwards.”  Cute.

Egg Hunt

Every once in a while, for a variety of reasons (being really good, wanting a break, playing a game, etc.), I throw a pack of smarties on the floor and call out “egg hunt”.  Scout just runs around as fast as he can, and stuffs them in his mouth as quickly as possible.  This particular time, Scout wasn’t around and Icka went to town.

Staying Warm

His new way to stay warm.  I think that Nonnie thought it was cute the first few times.  Or at least until he wanted in and out about every single second.

Arguably…The Best Part Of The Day

p1070066.jpg
I always have a toy in her bed.  My mom is anti, but she usually plays for a bit before she screams for me to get her.   It kind of backfires when she accidentally kicks it in her sleep and is scared within an inch of her life.  (Why my mom is anti.)

Don’t you love Scout’s face.  This was not posed….he was just smiling next to his Non.

The Daily Grind

Skylar caught me in the act of carrying my “mama’s girl” downstairs and throwing out a dirty diaper.  It might not be glamorous, but it is definitely the good life.

Superbowl Sunday

The Brockbanks had a Superbowl get together, and we surprised them by showing up.  The kids had a great time with the aunts and the cousins.
