Passport Photos

I only wish my passport photo ever turned out this cute!  Notice my hand in the background holding her outfit up at the neck to keep her stable “without” me in the picture.  A special thanks to Costco for working with this difficult subject, and making all this happen.  (But I wasn’t into the idea of her having to take her bow off….what a rip!)

A Wee Bit Excited

3.jpg

Micah thought it would be cool to go to Ireland for St. Patty’s day…..so off we are!  But really, what Micah doesn’t know is I really agreed to the trip so that he can finally kiss the Blarney Stone.  According to Wikipedia:

The Blarney Stone is a block of bluestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle, Blarney about 8 km from Cork, Ireland. According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery).

What wife wouldn’t want a little more “gab”, “eloquence”, and especially “flattery” in her life.  Shmickster — let’s go learn the Irish Jig, come back with the luck o’ the Irish and return with a little more gab full of compliments in my life!

I Swear By The….

Swaddle!
This little girl will sleep about twice as long in her carseat when I have her all wrapped up in her swaddle.  Even though she is sopping wet with sweat when I get her out, she loves her little, hot and tight cocoon.  (And the interesting thing is that Scout loved the cool and brisk air when he was her age.  I used to put him to bed with the windows open, and he would have his best sleeps.)

Battle Wounds

David was back in town, and the pillow fight got even more intense this time. (And this picture is from the morning after.)

“Whoops”

Scout has been walking around lately with his new word….”Whoops!”  See one reason why below…

A Bittersweet Day

p1030058.jpg

My mom and I finally put Navy’s crib together.  Exciting, but sad that she is growing so fast.  As a sidenote — talk about cute crib bedding.  I won this set from my mom when I was pregnant with the first girl after a serious string of boys!

Good Sport

Everyone always remarks about what a good sport Calin is.  Trilby said just the other day that her coworkers were talking about how her girls probably never get embarrassed because of their aunts who are so out of control.  I think her coworkers are correct in their assessment, but what they don’t know is what a total good sports they both are.  And I would give first place in the good sport category to Calin.  Skylar is so easy, and almost participates in the shenanigans, whereas Calin is usually disgusted by them.  But no matter what, when she falls victim to our craziness, she always ends up laughing.

Yesterday marked a big day in my life….Navy turned six weeks old.  Hence, I supposedly have the green light to officially start exercising.  (My doctor will tell me today for sure.)   My idea was to go in the morning, but something came up.  Then the late morning, but you know the story.  So about 3:25, I decided to head on out.  And it worked out perfectly since Calin usually gets picked up at 3:45.  I got Scout in the jogger stroller, got snacks for him and water for both of us, and we went on our walk.  When I got the call from Calin to go and get her, I told her I was coming “slowly but surely”.  She wanted to know what that meant.  I told her if she walked to the bottom of the hill, she would find out.  She told me she “would never walk to the bottom of the hill because [she] had like 40 pounds of books!”  I told her “stinks for you!” (Especially because it was a two plus mile walk and she was in her fashion forward jeans and her Ed Hardy shoes that weren’t “made for walking”.)
When she clued into my plan of getting her home, she was SO mad!  I was SO happy!  When she finally realized that she had no choice, she said in a disgusted voice, “Fine!  But you are pushing the stroller by yourself with my books in it and my bag on it!”  I said, “Fine!  But that only means I will get skinnier faster!”

Scout was so excited to see her, and called out “Nay Nay” for twenty minutes prior to her arrival, and even had a flower he picked for her.  Unfortunately, she wasn’t that thrilled to see us….or I guess me probably because I was snapping pictures of her the whole way down the hill.

In the end, we had a great time.  Scout and I would run ahead and hide behind bushes and jump out to scare her.  I kept trying to trip her when she thought she could walk and text. We crank called people.  I would cat call guys and point at her when they looked.  She got a piece of dust in her eye and complained for ten minutes about it….I told her it was nature, and that she should get outside more often.  I moaned and groaned all the way up the last massive hill, which she thought was hilarious.  It was all in fun.  But the best was when we called her mom, and I told Trilby I was making Calin walk.  Trilby said that Calin has been wanting to do some sort of exercise lately, and I beamed with delight, while Calin was noticeably irritated her mom told me.  I told Calin, “I didn’t even know you wanted to exercise every day…..and I want to exercise every day……this is PERFECT…..I will pick you up every single day with the stroller!”  She was obviously disgusted with the idea, because she knows I will pick her up with the stroller!  I can’t wait to bond with my little niece as I shed the pounds.

Our Ducks Are Back

p1030046.jpg

Last thing we knew about our ducks (according to Skylar) is that they got a duck divorce, and headed their separate ways.  Well, about a year and a half later…..there they are again.  They must have made up.  Scout loves them now as much as he used to love them, and my mom hates them as much as she used to hate them (due to their large plops they leave around).  So far they have taken a few dips in the pool, but I am sure they will soon be quacking at our front door like they used to.  We just have to remember to keep the door closed, because last time they didn’t hesitate to let themselves in.

First Giggle

p1030042.jpg

Navy did her first little giggle to mark being 6 weeks old.  She was interacting with Skilly, and was smiling pretty good, and it turned into a little laugh!  Then Skylar and my mom were talking about how huge her double chin is, when Skylar remarked, “Well, if anyone ever needed a chin transplant, Navy could give them one!”  Right you are Skylar — if anyone ever needed one?

One Of The Numerous Reasons…I Love Micah

Because when the guy on the Bachelor proposed to the girl on the Bachelor….I looked over and he had tears in his eyes.  I love that he acts tough, but is really pretty soft.  (But not his body…..because he is a P90Xer.)
